Am new to this godly man. The issue of foreknowledge intrigued me the last two days. Am trying to get more understanding on this when it comes to severe congenital malformations that spells intractable suffering for certain victims. I can't overstate the fact that God knew all these but am just trying to get some scriptures from anyone on this aspect of foreknowledge . Any help?

Hello Sandra, the verse he was reading was Romans 8:29-31 (MSG): Romans 8:29-31 (MSG) 29 God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. 30 After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun. 31 So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?

I believe this misses the point on the most fundamental level. Are we not destined for heaven or hell? Does not choosing to follow Christ destiny us for heaven, and the opposite destiny us for hell, and if he knew us before we were born, does that not mean we were already in hell and this is our opportunity to follow Christ. Following Christ is trusting in Christ to lead us. And if he is leading us, will he not take care of us as a reward for following? But if we choose not to follow, what confidence shall we have??????? We should be terrified of not following him, for did he not say not everyone who says lord lord, will enter the kingdom only those who do the will of my father, who is in heaven? ???
