This is the third book from "Before the Coffee Gets Cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

Thank you so much! I'm not a native speaker - I'm Arabian- so I read the two first books in Arabic then when I found out there's another book was just dropped out - but in English- I saw it as a good choice to start a new book to improve my English but this feeling disappeared after I couldn't understand what is going on in the novel, I couldn't even know the characters so I felt distracted by that. After I saw your video it finally made sense to me 😁 Thank you so much!

In December I finished "Before the coffee gets cold" and currently just started reading "Tales from the cafe". After that I would start "Before your memory fades"

I didn't expect that the series had the same concept thru all the books 😧

Yes! They could probably combine them all into one book to put all 12 stories together! A few years passes in between, but they still all fit well together.

I mean, you could technically read it first! There are only a few characters that are in every book, so you'll just get more backstory for them when you read the others ones.

Kazu’s mother vanishes at the end of Tales from the Cafe and an old man takes her place. Who is he? Did I miss that explanation?

Honestly, I don't think it was revealed yet, otherwise I missed that too. The 4th book is out in English now, though, so maybe it will tell us! I'm going to be picking it up soon.

@@oceansbooksandstuff I assume that's the detective who went in past to gift his deceased wife, and it looks like when he gulped the coffee it was already cold he was
