I originally was looking for java fern at a local pet depot and sadly, they were all out. im impatient so i opt for another option and i'm so glad i got this planet! i just planted it in my 20 gallon high tank, cant wait to see it grow and flourish 😍

This has been my favorite planted tank and I’m using as a model for how I’d like mine! Quick question, how do you stop s repens from carpeting and fighting with your Monte Carlo? Seeing as they’re both carpeting plants I’d imagine that’s an issue?

It doesn't really effect anything ill keep it trimmed where I want them but the monte carlo will carpet around the S.Repens or if you plant the S.Repens on top of a monte carpet than the mc under the s,repens will just die off

What a great looking tank. I’m jealous . What size AC’s are those and what are you running in them? I see that you have a surface skimmer too. I was considering getting two Seachem Tidals for my 40 that I am setting up because they have a skimmer on them already. Definitely subbed. One of the best tanks that I have seen. I also dig your ottos. My LFS gets them sometimes, but they told me that they don’t do very well.

This tank actually isn't up no more bc this was 5 years ago but thanks definitely check out the channel now and the tanks, but both were AC 50s and all filled with matrix and filter floss

Love this tank, bro. Just wanted to ask for help though. Planning to do the same with this one carpet thing. Which would be better thing to do, aquasoil bottom and black sand surface or other way around? Thank you. Just getting started to this hobby lol.

Aqua soil bottom for sure, and you don't need to cap it with sand unless you just like the look

How long is the photoperiod? These are easily the best s. repens I've seen in a non-co2 tank.

I recently purchased some repens from tissue culture to put in my daughters glow tank and i want to know a little more on how to care for them properly but for starters my frogs and snails keep trying to go underneath the repens and end up digging them up and they float to the top of the tank😦 I've had to re-"plant" them about 5 times now and im sure thats not good for them to be handled that much but I was wondering if you had any tips on helping them to stay planted in the rocks? ? Thank you and great video☺

Yah theres not much to do in your situation bc wants they root then your fine and they will stay, but the only thing me personally that I've seen is getting aquarium plant glue and gluing them to a small rock and then just bury that rock in the substrate and the weight on the rock will keep it down

That looks very nice ! What are you using as a carpet ? Also , how does a plant carpet change the way you clean the tank ? I'm still fairly new at keeping live plants

Monte carlo and having a carpet you don't need to gravel vac like you would with gravel bc its planted in a planted soil so you don't touch it but you can hover over the carpet lightly to get bigger things

Your tank needs to add potassium liquid to prevent the leaves from turning yellowish.

Just depends how dense you plant but with co2 about a month without it 6 months or more

@@SaathveekRaju stop dosing excel and see if that helps, it can harm plants and melt them pretty easy, I know I've done that and when I stopped it started to come back, you can still use excel but only when you need to

This is one in the back middle but it wouldn't matter if I did have one on there bc there tons of flow from filters and the skimmer so there really isn't a point in having one on this setup

I don't think this is a Beginner plant at all. I'm struggling to grow these.. And I got them tissue cultured. And have them planted immersed for back up for emergencies.
