I know this video is 5 yrs old but it has been an enormous help for me. I'm running two companies in two states and I am responsible for creating and submitting policies and documents to different state and federal departments...I am clueless how to start a fresh draft but after watching this video I think I can do it. I am a 70 year old retired nurse who loves working on the computer and with my daughters help have learned a lot of basics over the years but there is so much more I would like to be able to do. My daughter works full time and has 3 kids so I don't want to ask her to take the time to teach me so I am here to learn through these videos. This is a very clear, well illustrated video on basics to Word: creating the document, entering text, a bit about styles, introduction to working with images, adding shapes and text boxes, saving and printing. I have worked with Word for a long time and was pleased to pick up a couple of points myself. I recommend this to new users and look forward to more tutorials.

A brand new notebook came with the job, but all the other office staff have older Word programmes ,so I have been feeling a bit bewildered. I am a senior and never used computers before so I find watching your video is really helpful, I have Windows 10 so my screens look a little different from yours but I am going to work on it. I knew ms word here and there and thanks for this tutorial some of which I had only knew this time. I suggest for the next tutorial that you put shortcut keys like ctrl + B for Bold etc but I understand that because it's only for beginners and btw, I hover over your playlists and will watch your ms office tutorials :D

Microsoft Word is used as a modern way of writing letters and other documents on the computer, instead of the old pen and paper system. I'm a head teacher and don't know the different things to do in Microsoft word. the video explained the basic parts and function its toolbar and different ways and creating effective, creative and presentable papers. All I know in my existing life are typing, saving documents, pasting articles, words, photo and make a design for my documents. This video was very informative and clearly understand how to do and what to do using MS word. Nowadays, in this pandemic electronic are useful not for me as a head teacher but also to the students. Overall this was great information and very useful!!!

Thank you for a straight to the point tutorial. However, even in such a short piece Word did not do what you wanted and this has been an abiding gripe since the appearance of Office 2013 when 'style over substance' hit we educators like an express train in a tunnel. Microsoft had increasingly seen no need to explain itself to buyers and the business world had supplanted education and the sheer fun of such as Windows 98 SE and the Office which came with it then as far as Office 2007. Although some people hated the ribbons at the time 2007 became (in my opinion) the most intuitive yet productive version -- especially as regards SAVE and SAVE AS. Many a tearful student lost work in that mess but M'soft worsened Office by adding more SFX and not tackling SAVE/SAVE AS, file allocation and temporary version files which slowed computers and sometimes lodged randomly. Coinciding with my retirement I was part of a large group tasked with testing office suites and the greatly improved and constantly refining Libre Office squashed M'soft Office in all but Publisher (which was never available in Office for Mac and was happily supplanted by low cost or free publisher software. I still have a 365 subscription in case my grandchildren want M'soft Office but most use Google for ease and because it automatically saves to cloud without fussing over One Drive. In the education field where students really need an offline office suite for serious work I recommend Libre Office (including some paid offshoots) because it is not an enclosed system like Office is and compatibility issues get rarer the less people use M'soft Office. It has been the overpriced milch cow of MS Corp for too long and failed to diversify over many languages in the intelligent way LO has done. It is THE American dinosaur, occasionally given splashes of paint to con people into thinking that it is being upgraded when it is not at all. It is almost an allegory of the USA itself.
