Out of every kayak fishing video I've seen trying to train I feel this one actually fits the bill! I thought I was the only one that used my crank baits to coast with ^^; thanks for including this technique on the video I've gone entire hour long runs without touching a paddle using this method, the calmer the day and the water the better it works! Nothing feels better than covering an entire 200 yards of territory better than anyone could in a bass boat, and all that with not 1 battery to worry about Gosh I'm psyched to get back on the water!

The local rental places use Jacksons. They seem to be very well made. One day I will trade up, but for now I'm making do with a somewhat heavily modified big-box kayak. It gets the job done, but it was painfully uncomfortable until I went to work on it.

I have noticed most videos of Kayaks etc... hardly show boarding the kayak from shore and paddling. Posing questions to kayak dealers has not been helpful.. I have been shopping for a long time with more questions than answers. Price is not so much a concern as knowing more about what Im buying. I watched a couple of Jackson Kayak owners at Lake Guntersville fishing one day and was totally impressed. After a purchase, I will be left on my own to learn this boat. I usually fish alone and I dont know personally, anyone that kayaks. Thanks Eric, hope your sales guys are as good as you. Im going to look closer at your boats.

I'm 6'3" and weigh about 250. I'm 57 years old and I'm pretty clumsy. I have a great time fishing from my 25 year old ocean kayak that I bought used for $150. I spent maybe an other $50 to set it up for fishing. No, I can't stand up in it, but I'm a klutz and probably couldn't stand up in the one he has either. He probably charges at least $1500 for that one. You can watch all the videos you want and spend as much money as you want but the best way to effectively fish from a kayak is to go out and do it. Be safe, be cautious and figure it out as you go. It's a lot of fun. I highly recommend!

That is a cool Kayak, just picked up a new Kayak and didnt consider a Jackson Kayak. But I do understand what you are teaching here. Yes I went with a 40 inch wide double v bottom kayak. I fell in and lost gear a few times. I would add you should show how difficult it is to get in a cheap kayak and what you need a stable kayak.

Howdy Eric...Great Kayaks, Love Jackson FD. Here is my design challenge to the Kayak industry.... Design a Kayak that will out-maneuver and out-fish my "hands free" $500 Inflatable Pontoon boat with choice of fins, oars, or $100 Minn Kota 5 mph motor. It has to be 100% "hands free" in sitting as well as standing position e/human power hybrid is OK (Love FD concept just needs 360 hands free control)). It has to be able to maneuver on rivers as well as a "double ended" drift boat and back plugs. Yep, this is a friendly challenge. No offense. I own both kayak and toon. Competition is good! Inshore, offshore, rivers, lakes doesn't matter. Definition of "hands free" does not include anchoring of any type(power poles, drogues, spot lock), or any hand controlled remote. In other words I want complete control in any direction with my feet. Electric foot controls to control prop motion 360 degrees similar to bow mounted bass boats is OK while standing. It must have option to use "hands free" 360 degree control human power while sitting. A "hands free" human powered, STANDING, 360 control would be out of this world. I sent out this challenge to Hobie over 20 years ago after I returned my original pedal drive hobie and went back to my toon. I am still waiting. Yep, It is 2020 and my "hands free" pontoon will out maneuver any Kayak on the market. IMO that is why Bass Tournament regs don't allow toons, they are afraid they will be out maneuvered and out fished. LOL Just a friendly challenge. Good Luck
