Thank you so much !!! I needed to see that a final coat doesn’t mean just one coat. My final coat is 3 or 4 final coats. I was ready to give up! Love designing cup .. but using a chemical and expecting it to do understand what you want is the frustrating part. Thank you again. Very helpful. I’m letting every thing dry forever. (Sealer) waterslides) it takes me forever to make a tumbler. I need to be more confident and cut my time down.

You have by far the best tutorials, everything about your videos is great. Your tone, time, presentation, and your comments and resources. I would love a tutorial on the different epoxies, go over pros and cons of each and their best uses. Since there is no one epoxy fits all. I value your feedback and I dont want to invest to much money onto one cup.

Another awesome video with so much great information!! I've been making tumblers for a little over a year and I was still able to get some good info! I've literally been sanding my entire cup in between each layer so to know that I don't have to is a HUGE time saver! 😌🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you! And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who uses sharpie to cover up those little mistakes 😂😉
@EmilyMineDesigns
@EmilyMineDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to sand between each layer but it does promote better adhesion. Sanding also isn’t needed when your previous layer is still tacky like with what Jessica does. But be careful with doing that. You need to make sure you mixed and measured properly.

Yay glad I stumbled upon this one! I’m having trouble understanding the sanding of the rim and the bottom though. Just wanting to sand a little bit off the rim so you can see the stainless steel? And I’m confused on how much of the bottom to sand and why? I’m just trying to learn as I want to start :)
@FlynnSistersBoutique
@FlynnSistersBoutique 3 жыл бұрын
So just a fine line to expose the stainless around the top rim and around the bottom rim if it’s bumpy and needs smoothing. Sanding the rims will also help your epoxy adhere better there since it tends to pull away from the rims

After sanding and exposing the rim, when you do your final coats of epoxy do you spread epoxy to the very top over the rim of the cup or do you stop at the thin metal line? I hope what I’m asking makes sense. A video I watched it showed me to let epoxy go over the rim and after it’s dry take exoacto knife around the inside of the rim.
@FlynnSistersBoutique
@FlynnSistersBoutique 3 жыл бұрын
I just go all the up to the top but not around to the inside. You would still take a knife around the top rim at the end, you just don't be trying to cut it out from the inside this way because that doesn't really work for people you have turner arms that go all the way to the top rim like mine.

Love your videos!! I am a newbie and I’m wondering, is the epoxy food safe? Since mouths touch it - just wondering.😊
