Thank you! The Jig and Plunker was invented in Central Kentucky for the White Bass Jumps. After moving several times, I have lost my equipment and therefore all the skills. Jump season is in 6 weeks or so; I want to be ready this year.

Jay in all my years of tying some of the most simple patterns have been the best ones. My experience level is what I would consider above average and I have made some really nice looking crappie and smallmouth jigs using different flash materials, cheniles, schlappen head collars and the list goes on but some of the simplest jigs like the one you share during this session are deadly. I have used this exact jig on Dale Hollow and have caught some huge smallmouth. I use 6 lb line when I throw this particular jig and re-tie after every fish. I have caught smallmouth pushing 6 pounds using these "simple....easy to tie" jigs so Inam glad you shared this. Back in the 70's we didn't have all this new fancy material and buck tail was basically it. Fantastic jig Jay. Keep them coming!

Yes, great comments. As you mention how we only had natural materials back in the day is one reason I consider myself more traditional minded as I shy away from synthetic materials. I may have mentioned in a past video similar is why I don't like sally hansons as head cement.

I like watching you tie jigs I tie a lot of them when I’m watching you I also found me a universal 2 vise in a kit with all the original stuff in it. Pretty cool, fine. The original price tag was on the box $16 :65

Great explanation and angles to see each step clearly. My boys and I are getting into making bucktails. What glue do you recommend that isnt too expensive?

I like any lacquer based head cement, lacquer thinned about 10% works great. I never use super glue and consider sally hansen's too new/fancy. I talk about head cements in many videos and explain when I 1st learned of SH in the 70s

You can find this type of bottle at most lure craft / tying stores; this one from Wapsi. The size is .5 oz. Lacquer doesnt dry much at all. sitting on my desk a few weeks and after using on 9-10 doz Ill top off with lacquer / thinner10%. On my fly bench I have a bottle with Spar Varnish which also works well.
