Yammie, I know that u know more about motorbikes than I ever can dream off but based on your comparison of the trident and the rs 660, I have to say it isn't a fair judgement. Simply because I own a trident and I can say, that based on the 4000 rpm flashing lights means that you got that trident on the breaking engine mode. Am I wrong??? You can disable that, it's on the bike settings. Disabled it and try it out. It's like a pocket rocket. Let me know.

Do it, as long as you're responsible. It has a ton of safety features, the ability to drop the power why you first learn, looks amazing, and you will pretty much never grow out of it like you would a lot of other 650/660 bikes. Just get frame sliders! Dont want to scratch it if you drop at a slow speed

39 years old 6'2 and 210 lb body builder Trident for a first bike with only parking lot riding experience. I struggled finding a "beginner" bike at my size and build. After a week I'm am 100% confident in my choice. Bike is smooth and forgiving yet reminds you to be respectful of what's at your disposal. The sound is amazing. Clutching is super forgiving, ride quality for me is very comfortable. It feels like a "grown up" bike that won't bust your back on bumps. Pretty easy to slide back on the seat to dip into corners. I have no desire to rip around like I'm on a track but like to have a fun ride. So far very happy. Being a naked bike, you feel all the wind everywhere but the bike feels solid and planted at speed. Honestly I like it because feeling all the wind just helps you realize how fast you are actually going which to me increases the fun factor.

i got to test ride the trident last week. i'm 33 and got my endorsement about 5 months ago. you guys are spot on about the trident's power. it's definitely jerky at the beginning. i don't recommend it for a younger or less responsible rider. i can't speak much for top end power because the bike only had 20 miles on it so i didnt want to ring it out. probably my mistake but the flashing tachometer threw me off. i thought it was the bike telling me it was about to blow up if i didnt reduce RPMs. plenty capable for freeway riding. my absolute favorite part of the bike is the comfort. the ergonomics were perfect for me at 5'10" 180lbs

That riding position on the CBR650R is a tad bent over and aggressive. Feet back and all. The Trident is very much neutral and upright. 4 banger vs. Triple...they make their power in very different ways. Depends on how you want to ride.

Whats really funny is these are the EXACT two bikes i was choosing between and have decided to go with the Trident. I am a fairly experienced rider with my first two bikes being a Ninja 636 and R6 back in the late 2000s. So i've haven't really rode in almost 10 yrs. I'm looking for something I can ride everyday if wanted and something more comfy. Also I just LOVE the look of the Trident. Don't get me wrong I like my 600cc super sports but i'm almost 40 and I would rather not be more comfortable these days. Lastly the I believe the Trident is just a great deal at $8500 bucks!

At that point i think trident is not really and upgrade. More of a fancier option maybe. If you want like upgrade Power/handling wise i think you maybe should even look for a street triple or something around there.

Compare that to an old school 600. The naked and the sport. That Trident vs a Bandit 600 and the Aprilia vs a CBR 600, for example..

About what bike to start riding, where I live (Spain), after you get your license, during the first 2 years you cant ride any motorcycle that has more than 47,5horsepower (BUT you can buy and ride a 95hp bike that is able to be limited to 47,5hp via electronics). There is a version of rs660 with 95 horsepower due to this, which you can limit to 47,5hp and then after 2 years you can lift the restriction (if u want to) and ride it full at 95hp. Then I think, is it really any motorcycle a beginner shouldnt buy/start on, taking into account that its gonna be capped to 47,5 hp for 2 years? Or it should be fine getting an rs660, trident660, mt07 or even z900, if they are limited to 47,5 hp? Im in the process of getting my license atm and have watched a decent amount of videos about beginner bikes to start and not to start on, but with this limitation that exist in my country, does it really matter?

I think people would be more likely to cross-shop the Trident with the XSR700 as opposed to the MT-07.

I have a question and I hope someone here can help me out. So I am currently 17 years old and would like to get my motorcycle license when I will be around the age of 24. I do have my 50cc license and I have been riding my Aprilia rs4 50cc for over a year now. Now, my question is, does that count as driving expirience because obviously it doesnt make much power. But I do know all the basics of motorcycle riding like shifting, revmatching, lookinhg into turns etc. And with that, what do you guys think about what kind of sportbike I should buy when im older. Because I would really like an Aprillia rs660 but I heard that that wouldnt be the brightest idea. Can anyone help me with this?

Nope started on a Honda CB650F as my first, jumped on a 2019 RSV4 1100 Factory as my second :D Anyone who’s starting out on a 300/400cc bike is just wasting money as you’ll want to upgrade it to a 650cc in couple of months time

Sometimes the size of the newbie rider matters. I started riding over 20 years ago on a 1997 Suzuki Bandit 1200. I’m 6’3” 220lbs. I’m grateful that I was advised against buying the 600 Bandit. I controlled my wrist and understood my limits for 12 years with that torque monster. Then my wife had a child and I bought a B-King. Fuck it!

The problem with buying a 250 or 400 is that your going to outgrow it and get sick of it in a few months and not a few years and be ready to upgrade to something like a 650. So my advice start with the 650.

I had my 250 for like 9 years until it got stolen. Even though it would be cool to have more, I never felt like I needed it. It was definitely enough for a commuter bike and still fun.

Unpopular opinion: MT-07 is better entry level bike than Trident a) cheaper (if you buy used bike its waaay budget friendlier than Triumph) b) good for riders with A2 licence - easy to learn and handle c) if you get over it, the price of used MT-07 doesnt drop that much drawbacks of MT-07 a) suspension kinda sucks (i have 2019 model) b) motorcycle is overall shaky and sometimes you lose confidence in the bike c) sound is sooo baad stock, definitelly buy an exhaust d) for some people lack of power, for me it is more than enough - you can use the whole spectrum of power when you ride and it is still controllable and fun Even tho the Triumph overall looks like more complex motorcycle with the suspension, brakes and with that amazing design, I would still suggest buyinig an MT-07. If you are 18-19 years old and you want to entry motorcycle world, MT-07 is an excellent option and you have a pretty good chance of buying a solid used bike, with undestructable engine, which you either love or hate. If you are older and want bike in middle class with amazing design, more mature throttle - go for Triumph, but in my opinion, young riders dont have that much money for buying not so cheap motorcycle as Trident 660. Thats my opinion about an MT-07 vs Triumph Trident 660. Have a great day fellas

Yamster can you evaluate the new Honda CBR 650R would that be an okay if I respect it beginner bike
@jbb3675
@jbb3675 3 жыл бұрын
If you're above age 25 and can ACTUALLY respect it, the CBR650R isn't too much for a beginner bike. The most important thing is the ability to easily flat foot with a little bend in your knees. My first bike was an Aprilia Shiver 750, I put it in Rain mode for the first season, Touring for the next 2 seasons and Sport mode for the following 2 seasons. Having different ride modes with your feet easily flat on the ground makes the biggest difference. Needless to say, I sell motorcycles at a Honda dealership in Vancouver Canada. Generally, it makes more sense to start on the CBR500R, but the 650 isn't too much of a handful.
