The Soup stove's efficiency depends on how you set them up I made a bill of "Make until 10 Lavish soup" in my Large Cooking stove along with having 7 Cooking stoves ready to accept and cook them, this way, you can create large amounts of soup in bulk The only downside is that you can receive a major loss in food if you get hit by a Solar flare (or a Zzt or solar Eclipse if your batteries run out) because they spoil very quickly in the stove I fed an entire colony of 12 people with 8 Soup stove's producing 80 meals every 2-3 days, which is more than enough for my colonists while also giving me some for extra, this also allows your pawn to save massive amounts of time since cooking a single soup pot (the raw soup) takes less time than cooking 12 meals of the same quality

I always play with the 3 sisters planting mod as it adds lentils which function as "Meat" for the purpose of cooking.

I love how pawns cook they find 39 meat and one berry and make a dish

Just one thing about potato growing in hydroponics. I don't think it was worded as good as it could have been. Potato plants do benefit from rich soils and hydroponics. However they don't benefit as much as other crops with better fertility sensitivity do. If i remember correctly hydroponics potatoes are at 170% growing speed while rice or strawberry are at 280% growing speed. So you still gain from planting in rich soil/hydroponics. However you don't gain as much as you would with other crops. It is worth noting that they still are the most efficient nutrition per work crop you can plant in hydroponics. As such they deserve their spot in people's colonies.

Nutrient paste is so amazing if you have good mood management. 0 risk of food poisoning, more nutrition per resource, and it gets rid of using time on cooking, which is a substantial % of colony's potential productivity for a long time.

My suggestion is to prepare meals according to your consumption rate. Also, once I get a somewhat stable food source going, I disable survival meals from the allowed foods and stockpile 200-300 of them. This frees up space (since survival meals dont need refridgeration) and creates a food stockpile for lean times or when you want to send out people on caravan (it also sells well too if you are still in a time of bounty).

I like the Rye plant that The Great War mod adds. It grows as fast as rice (jus one extra day), it grows well in poor soil like potatoes and yields up to 15 rye per harvest, combined with nutrient dispencer and increased stock mod (75->750), one big harvest can last you up to several years

Beggars and vagrants are also a handy source of food and other useful materials like spare parts for colonists.

Dubs skylight + tilled soil + VGP Vegetable Garden + Underground Food + Dubs Bad Hygiene. Those 5 mods prevent the external situation. Add Better Pawn Control, and you don't need worry of zoning.

I searched ‘Rimworld tutorial’ only to realise that was a huge mistake. I searched ‘Rimworld caravan tutorial’ made things easier but a 30min detailed tutorial on only caravan!? I searched ‘Rimworld power tutorial’ omg so much info. I searched ‘Rimworld food tutorial’ omg 20mins of detailed nutrition advice. Omg this game is bloody huge I tell you.
