In this beginners guide tutorial video we look at the M79 Grenade Launcher and its associated 40mm Ammunition.
I show you how far it can fire a shell, what the blast radius and how dangerous it is, I fire it through windows and we see some of the structures that block the blast.

I was sure, looking at all the structures around you that at some point in the vid you would test firing down at targets from height. 😢 I was crushed when you never did. I think in all honesty that's the smartest postion to use an M79 from and I bet a lot of people would like to see how it performs in that setting. Great video as always though. Just my 2 cents. Hi Rob, regarding the M203, grenade launcher attachment for the M4A1), I have added this item into my Nitrado server and have acquired the item in the game but have not been able to successfully “combine” it to the M4A1. Any ideas?? As a matter of fact, one of my mates got kicked off the server when attempting this couldn’t get back in the game. I would love to be able to use this feature on my gun if at all possible.

I think m79 is bugged on VPP admin mod Vanilla. I tried a spawned in M79 and explosive 40mm and after I load it and try to fire, nothing happens. Just a click sound like the gun is empty.

It is probably pretty cool for pvp, but I find it pretty useless in pve.

@AkulaSpawn - I strongly disagree. After surviving multiple wolf attacks by sheer will and luck, I finally found an M79. I now carry it as my "wolf repellant" and it works well against packs unless they catch you up close before you can react. Probably be great against bears as well. Just feels good having an M79 in dangerous animal territory.

Im guessing the more degraded the launcher is.. the less range you have? Also can you shoot these GL Rounds and make them go boom?

No weapon works that way in Dayz. Weapons do not lose accuracy, stability, or any other type of handling based on degredation. If a weapon is worn or pristine it will work flawlessly as intended. If a weapon is damaged it has X percent chance of jamming. And I believe badly damaged has an even higher chance of jamming though it may be the same for both. But I wouldnt mind if they implemented what you suggested. That would be cool.
