Thanks for an extremly useful video. I have struggled with this aircraft and started watching all of your videos on the 146 and I am now beginning to get somewhere. Keep up the good work.

Great tutorial Jonathan. I just bought the 146 and have been flying it using the FMS but I want to go ‘old school’ 😁

I am a beginner on BAe146. This is Korea, so there are very few BAe146 users. So to me your video is the Bible. Thank you.

You need to turn "ON" NAV2 by rotating the inner knob on the F/O radio unit. :)

Same here, the GNS3000 or whatever hell theyre called (Longitudes to SF50s to avionic version of Skyline theyre everywhere!) they’re nice but get sick of seeing em copied n pasted over to so many planes- this was a nice unique airliner. This and pmdg 737-800 became my 2 most used, even over AN-225, Concorde, turboprops, fighter jets, and A310.

@@jonbeckett Hi, one more question. Sorry to bother you. My question is which will be the best? MSFS2020 on PC? Flight simulator on XBOX or Xplane ? I guesss Xplane also runs on PC. Guide me please. Really appreciate your help.

@@jawadbabar1 MSFS on the PC is the best simulator for general aviation, and now commercial aviation too. If you want to fly military aircraft, DCS on the PC is the way to go. MSFS on XBox is almost identical - you just can't install any extra software to improve the experience (and the controls are a little different).

@@jonbeckett Wouldn't mind a couple on the finer points of Altitude change (+ / -): the different methods of changing it but also things like how to capture (Altitude hold) and how to set the aircraft up for going into AP (either climb, descend or level flight). I'm so spoiled by the Garmin units! Manual flight seems fine but I'm struggling a little with AP - it'll kick out for no apparent reason (to me anyway).

@jonbeckett I found the key - the SYNC switch! I'd read the manual on AP over and over and somehow missed this. It wasn't too clear it acted like a clutch for the FDs. Why is it bound to Afterburner1 though? I would have thought it would make more sense to bind it to Flight Director Pitch Sync... Anyway - now I can get flying. :D (Still would love to see more vids though!)

Really helpful thank you! Do you btw have or know of a guide on how to use the cameras? What are you using to look around? You seem to find your way pretty quick and easy around the cockpit, with that quick zooming to the overhead panel and around the copilot etc etc😅

Thank you. Love your videos - watch them avidly. One question. I don’t have Little Navmap - or a pc. I use Xbox and iPad with Simbrief. How can I draw a line on the map, as you did, to calculate the correct heading/radial. You did this a few times buy drawing on Little Navmap to calculate a radial to fly on. Thank you so much.
@jonbeckett

Not sure you can with XBox. You could always get some real charts - or use an online map such as SkyVector.

You should climb using IAS (it pitches to maintain selected speed with fixed thrust, similar to FLCH or OP CLB in other aircraft). This protects you from a low-speed event regardless of what you do with the power and, if the optimum climb speed is selected, gives you the best climb performance.

Hi, thanks for your helpful tutorials. I wanted to get the Aerosoft CRJ, but then this fantastic Bae 146 came out. I'm undecided. Is it very difficult to use? Compared to CRJ? I use simbrief, am learning, and am undecided which of the two. thank you.

@@MicheleTommy The CRJ is faster, and more suited to the modern world, if that helps :) You also get a nice moving map while flying - which is useful (you can't see anything in the 146 - it pre-dates glass cockpits)

@@jonbeckett In fact, I have seen from your videos. My problem is knowing which of the two is more complicated. Even if I can learn things thanks to your videos. I come from Italy and both planes have also had diffusion here. I will watch your videos and decide. The Justflight company said it will also develop the Avro Rj series with the glass cockpits. Thanks for your kindness.
