Thank you so much for this tutorial! This is by far one of the BEST tutorials I have watched! You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you so much for going slowly, repeating the knots (slowly) several times to make sure whomever is watching understands how to do them, and the great instructions throughout! I’m a beginner and I enjoyed every minute of making this beautiful wall hanging! ❤️🙂

Lovely! What do you hang it on while you’re working on it? Debating whether to buy a board and pins to try macramé, but everyone seems to be doing them vertically…

Your video is very helpful! I will try this. can I make it bigger by adding some cords from the beginning? I am a beginner.
@SummerMacrame
@SummerMacrame 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah absolutely, you can make it bigger by adding more ropes from the start. When you do that, also make sure you make the ropes longer so that you don’t run out of ropes. The bigger you make a piece, the more knots you will make and it will use up more rope. Good luck! X

Thanks so much for this! I just tried it out for the first time. Went quite well until the clove hitch knots where mine just didn’t line up in the middle into that V? They were like too far apart so there’s a gap. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Not sure where I went wrong!
@SummerMacrame
@SummerMacrame 3 жыл бұрын
Hiya, thank you so much for trying out my tutorial! Ohh that’s so odd to have a gap left, you did wrap all the ropes twice did you? To fill up any gaps, you can add extra ropes using the larks head knot. This is the knot we used all the way at the start, to add the ropes onto the dowel. But this time, instead of adding the rope onto a dowel, you are adding the ropes onto the filler cord that you are using for the clove hitch knots. I hope that makes sense! Have a look at what a larks head knot looks like from the backside, when you add it onto the filler cord in reverse, it will look almost identical to a clove hitch knot! If this doesn’t make any sense haha feel free to send me a DM on instagram and I can send you a quick video on how to this. Or pop me a photo of your piece and I can have a look and see. instagram.com/summermacrame Xx

Hey, sorry for this late reply! I only noticed your comment just now.! No I would say I don’t keep the knots loose. I also don’t pull them so hard that they hurt my hands, it’s somewhere in between. It can be tricky at first finding that sweet spot!
