Welcome to Once In A Wistmoon, a Sims 3 Supernatural let's play filled with fairy gardens, cosy cabins in the woods and magical beings all around!
I've been wanting to begin a Sims 3 let's play since returning to the game recently, and I thought, what not better to do a Supernatural one! If you are looking for a magical wholesome household, the Wistmoons are for you.

Lilac Wistmoon's Backstory:
Originally from the town of Sunset Valley, Lilac Wistmoon has always had a yearning for something more.
Growing up on the outskirts of the town, she spent many days in nature, looking for bugs, foraging, fishing and exploring to her heart's content.
As a teenager, Lilac found out she had a grandmother from Moonlight Falls who was apparently a lot like her. Sadly, she passed away when Lilac was born.
Eager to learn more about her grandmother's passed, she made the decision to move to Moonlight Falls.
Lilac Wistmoon suspects that on this newfound journey, she'll not only discover more about her grandmother but about herself too.

If you're comfortable adding more mods, Nraas does have a Hybrid mod! It lets your sim be multiple types of supernatural beings, so you could have Lilac be a Fairy and a Witch!

Nice beginning! Brings to my mind some HP Lovecraft themes, perhaps a bit of his Shadow over Innsmouth. Probably NOT exactly the same tone we will get from this story (if I remember The Sims properly). Nevertheless, it is a nice flavour, for an opening of tale. The main character going back to where his family roots are.

You can also take the birds and snakes and stuff and sell them. You can get like 500 for the rare birds and snakes. Also if you pick wild flowers, you can sell those for a lot of money as well

@@Plumbie I went ahead and purchased it along with the pets expac since that’s still one of my favorites to this day. I have to try to fix the lag and stuff like that though because although it’s running okay, I see there are quite a few glitches. I’ll have to search into how I can set it up properly because I have no clue! Haha

How does your sims 3 game look so good? It looks beautiful. I’m only halfway through the video but I’m in love with Lilac. For the butterfly, maybe Feyre? Bringing in some Fae lore from ACOTAR here 🙈

Lighting mods and reshade! They are a complete game changer in the look of the game. I'm so happy you love Lilac too! I've never read ACOTAR, but Feyre is such a pretty name and would suit her butterfly perfectly.

@@Plumbie I definitely recommend it, the Throne of Glass series is also wonderful. The author’s world building is impeccable. Feyre is a beautiful name, if this is a legacy it could be adorable for a fairy baby 🥰

My fairie legacy are alchemists. Butterflies are used in potions. Don't name them. If you don't fence in your garden and lock the gates, zombies will eat everything and ruin all your hard work.

If you ever decide to add more CC in to your game, look into getting CC Magic!!! I literally have so much CC in my game and CC Magic keeps it running super smooth

If you want to become a fairy the only way is the create an specific elixir. You can buy it but is kind of expensive or create it but you need like level 7 to even unlock it 😅

Nraas master controller allows you to make occult hybrids! So she can be a witch and fairy❤

I love the aesthetic of your game and your play style!! 🤍 I have a question, because I want to make my game look like yours 🥰 which lighting mod to you have in your game out of the Uranesia Lighting Mod options? / what is the name of the file? I installed the other mods you mentioned in the video description as well, but my game looks nothing like yours… could you tell me exactly which graphic/look/aesthetic-enhancing mods you use? Did you change the reshade settings as well?

Thank you so much! With the Uranesia Lighting Mod options, I chose the UranesiaLightingMod_NOGreenSunrise+BrighterWater+BrighterNight file option. Regarding the reshade settings, I changed nothing. I also have all my game settings set to the highest. Everything else is linked in my resources post. My game looks a bit different because of my recorder, along with my editor! That could be another reason your game doesn't look exactly like mine. I hope this helps, and sorry for the late reply! ❤️🥰

Btw I meant to tell you I don't think you can become a fairy or witch unless you have the special potion bottles you can do it the easy way by buying them in the alchemy shop but its random so it still might take a while Also huge twilight fan here as well TEAM EDWARD FOR THE WIN!!!!!

Yes, I am using minimal cc and mods! I only have four expansion packs and no store content in my game, which probably helps too.

As of right now, no! I use defaults and some clothing and hair but that is it. I do want to get more cc but I primarily want to have a minimal cc folder like I do in ts4 ❤️

I’ve been in a dilemma lately whether to repurchase the Sims 3. It was so much fun. I’m finding the Sims 4 very repetitive and requires a lot of creativity, of which, I am sometimes lacking, and want the game to work in partnership with me.

I completely understand this! Luckily, I really enjoy storytelling, so I find ts4 easy to fall into, but I've also been loving playing ts3 lately, as it's so much easier to play the game and enjoy it without needing to put a lot of thought into it.

Awe, I think it’s quite sweet! I knew someone who went grey in their early twenties and although my intention wasn’t to give her grey hair, I think Lilac suits it’s quite well. ❤️

I'll turn it down a bit for the next episode! For my let's plays, I like to include background music to add pacing as it can start to feel stagnant and empty if I don't. I'll include longer, quieter music in the next episode, making it less noticeable. Thank you for the feedback!

That’s understandable! At first when returning to the game, I didn’t like how they looked. After playing for a little longer, they grew on me haha!

Hello :3 Sadly, I am sad to tell you that if you become a fairy, which is a race, then your sim cannot become a witch that by the way is a very unique one. But surely, you can make them stop being either one and then become the other. There are three different ways to become a witch. First one CAS, second one is to buy at the Elixirs and sundries community lot the bottled witch brew or something like that (the item cost 2000 simoleons and it's not always appears on sale), and finally if you are one for a challange... and you like thinks to take the time and, you can make it yourself but you need lvl9 alchemy (I can be wrong, it's been a while) but that is not all, to make them... You need three ingredients, bettles, etc. Like the rest of the alchemy stuff you can do. I will share you a link with more info of the class, if you are interested. (If you wanna investigate the spells on your own, the page tells you what all of them do). Also, magic is a hidden skill. It is rumored that witches can also clean the house with it, but don't know how. www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/supernatural/witches.php By the way, by each time you level up your gardening skill they gift you with more stuff to plant. Gardening in the sims 3 is rather easier than the sims 2, trust me. Although I am not sure, I am afraid for your garden when full moon starts and zombies start appearing, it will be a free meal. I dunno if you are aware but you can also have a bee farm and collect honey, I think it is something that adds very well to your gameplay. Anyways, nice interesting video. I really hope to see how the story evolves and discover more about her grandma.

@@Plumbie Your wellcome, I look forward for more posible TS3 gameplays in the future, there is a lot to discover. Also, another important thing. Wands have quality in here, if you have a bad one... which can increasy the chance of any spell to be unsuccessful, wands also cost money. But at the beginning you also get one/? About skills, you can go to the library and read them there. I dunno if moonlight falls library will have he gardening one there. If not, you can always buy them, but then again... books are expensive. In any case, since you planted a lot, and you will most likely plant a lot... you will reach level max rather quickly. Also, you can have a familiar I think that boosts your magic learning or smth. If you don't plan on keeping all those flowers, sell them for money. Same for that camera on your inventory. Don't forget that each time you fulfill wishes you get happiness points you can spend on buying boosts for magic casting and supernatural stuff. I haven't read them but within each pack several options where added that made the game more interesting or helpful. So yeah, completing wishes is a key (I am sure you are aware since you play sims 4 and it's more like the same). Easy way to get money without cheats, if you are lucky. Buying lottery tickets, although random luck, I was always kind of lucky.
