As a personal Begonia fiend , I Loved this. It’s so satisfying watching them mature. The genus in particular , because many species within it just go through such an incredible transformation & can be manipulated with light to change or increase colour or intensity of colour , and some are ridiculously easy for this… It’s crazy seeing images of my collection say 6 or 12 months ago & then seeing the plants in front of me… some look like different forms , but then some look completely unrecognisable! I should also state there’s many I’ve personally intended to try alter , and have succeeded with and it’s my favourite family for that reason. It’s continually growing with new , cool looking species being found all over the place & the hybrid scene is such an awesome pop of colour & character… Just nothing compares to the family , just my personal preference. (I’ve over 300 species of begonia alone currently & growing )

Thanks for sharing. Looks so pretty, love all the colors and textures. I have a hard time growing begonias in regular room temperature, they always seem to die when I get their leaves wet, or just don’t really grow much. I like the silver dollar one though, maybe will try it out and see how it does in regular room temperature since I don’t have a terrarium. I think the taconite also might look blue under a flashlight too, can’t remember hehe. Hope these babies do well, and can’t wait to see them when they are mature :).

I made begonia terrarium too (specifically Indonesian species), but they got neglected because i was busy preparing to move out. They're all dead except 2 lol, begonia daun hitam and begonia sp sumatra (this one survived because i put them in more established terrarium with automated misting system). You should check out the daun hitam one, it's quite stunning... and from my "experience" it's quite hardy. Tho the leaves melting so easily if it's too wet or like you said touched the plastic cup or the terrarium glass. But they're very fast grower too.

The one you referred to as a more juvenile Julua is Julau type 2 I can recognize that one , all mine died but Julau, so I suppose she’s an easier one that I would recommend, looks like a butterfly it’s definitely one of my top favs tfs gorgeous! I would like to try again for a good price or cuttings because I spent a few hundred at Botanicaz and eventually all but Julau died 😢 I want the Darth Vader hybrid.
