Behind the Badge | Episode 4

In March 2017 Albion hit the US TV screens with the critically acclaimed fly-on-the-wall documentary 'Behind the Badge'.
The four part series aired on NBC - the Premier League’s US broadcast rights holder - and was produced by Goalhanger Films.
In Episode Four viewers are given an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the club in the week leading up to the 3-1 Hawthorns victory over Arsenal on March 18.

We never seem to follow up on successful periods; it was like that in the days of Cunningham , Regis and Batson too.

A couple of days ago somebody asked on You Tube who is Baggies best Welsh player. It must be a certain Graham Williams., closely followed by the late Stuart Williams. (No relation). Everyone warranting about Jason Koumas Andy Johnson, etc. Graham was our Captain for many a year in the 60's, partnered Stuart for Wales and is our last player to Captain us the Baggies , to F.A Cup victory.

Tony Pulis has never got the recognition and appreciation he deserves. He was brought in to balance the books and keep us in the Premier League. He did just that. It all started going wrong as soon as Lai and Williams came in. John Williams was involved in Venky's takeover of Blackburn and was their CEO, if I remember correctly. Following that Blackburn ended up in League One. We were also victims of our own success. Losing Dan Ashworth and other key development people to the FA. People forget that Tony Pulis replaced Alan Irvine, who was hopelessly out of his depth and should never have been appointed. Tony Pulis did a really good job.

Pulis tbf did a good job; he just stayed too long as soon as big Roy became available we should have acted.

I know. People that maintained us as a Premier League side and even got us into the top half of the Premier League. Awful.

To be fair, these look like halcyon days in retrospect. If you compare to the squad then to the pile of rubbish that we have now. Start the comparison with the CB pairing... Jonas and Mcauley with..... need I go on?
