Lenore discusses finding the voice and soul for the character, as well as the challenges she faced as an outcome of feeling like an outsider, how she overcame those challenges, and how the world needs the X-Men again.

I am so glad that she is getting her voice and face out there for us to see! I watched the show back in the 90s as a kid, and she is truly Rouge! Always! Even in the video games X-men vs street fighter

It’s amazing how she sounds like rogue from the 90s but the performance in X-men 97 her voice is a little higher pitched which makes me think they did something to it in production.

Exactly! The voice director needs to either tell her to perform in her regular voice tone, or tell post-production not to tweak it. Rogue sounds a bit weird so far in X'97, so hopefully the kinks can get worked out.

@budgiecat9039 Alyson Court wanted an Asian VA to play the character. They asked, she turned it down due to that, but she will be voicing a Jubilee variant in the series. Too bad they didn't ask her to return to do Claire Redfield for Resident Evil R2make

This was SUCH a great interview! I really enjoyed it even more than the Buza interview. Lenore seems like such a fun, open and forthcoming person and it really shines throughout! I was pretty much grinning from ear to ear from start to finish of this, wish it was even longer! She also shared so much about herself here which she didn't necessarily have to, and I appreciate that.

I noticed that. I just commented that people are complaining about her voice, so I don’t want to sound like a hypocrite, but I did notice her voice is more high pitch. I don’t think it’s Lenore’s fault, I think the producers did that, raised her voice.

@@notfakemaine1431 Much appreciated. I feel like X-Men was deeper, it delved in so many dynamics. The loss of a team was traumatic. People really hated Cyclops for leaving Morph and Beast. More would have died if he didn't. Storm who was second in command said they had to go. Cyclops was most effective when it came to destroying the Sentinels. It was a hard choice. I wasn't that traumatized but was prepared when I saw Optimus prime died in the 80s cartoon movie. X-Men was more like a soap opera than a cartoon, It was more realistic to me.

I really feel Magneto just set Storm up. The way he showed mercy to The Judiciary Commitee and How he was complimenting Storm so thick to throw her off. It was a set up. Magneto is gonna flip the script real soon and I'm bracing for it

What's weird I found is that Rogue sounded almost completely different in X-Men 97, which I thought was because it was 30 years later.. but then in this interview she sounds closer to 90s Rogue even talking naturally than she did in most of 97! Maybe it was the voice direction?

She looks a lot like director extraordinaire Andrea Romano. Speaking of which, this version of the X-Men did for them what the DCAU did for DC comics. I still hear these voices when I read these comics. There have been other versions, some takes that were equally iconic, but I don't think her Rogue has been matched.

What a delight and compassionate person, very much different watching the X-Men 20+ years ago and always wanting to see the voice behind the characters. Thankfully now we get to experience a bit more of the cast and can show our appreciation for what they do. Goes without saying the X-Men, and cast, have changed our culture for the better. Without the show we would have never had the X-Men FOX, Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios, Disney would've probably never bought Marvel and movie studios would've never given comic movies a shot.

Lenore Zann as Rogue is just as iconic as RDJ as Tony Stark and no one can convince me otherwise. Some people are just born for these roles. Whoever playing Rogue in the live action MCU has a BIG SHOES to fill.

They should've gotten Cedric Smith back to play Professor Xavier (he's still active in the voiceover business in Canada). Problem is this: Catherine Disher is his ex-wife and she's in the cast, but not in her former role of Jean Grey, but as Dr. Val Cooper. They might've been afraid of a potential clash. He's MILES ahead of their in-house Richard Little, Ross Marquand, who's playing Xavier.
