The one thing I was told by my current and preious animation teachers i to draw and draw and draw. In order to be good at animation, you have to be good at drawining.

yeah i like the 2D animations better to the older disney films actually look cooler and alot more oldschool and retro i suppose computor animation will have that classical feature to when something better comes out but the 1930s was the golden age of animation befour all the fancy tech i like computor animation to but i feel its more complex and you have to learn IT skills along with it and its not just animation for ppl just wanting to make cartoons

I miss coursing animation! I remember when I first went to animation class, they told us to animate the same exact thing, the bouncing ball then next is the shadowing stuffs and whoa it took us like 2 months before we can touch computer. Right now, I could animate better XD

I just like frame by frame in general. No matter on paper or pc (or mac which i am using,)

I was just checking out the comments below and realised that without these fundamentals it doesn't matter what software I use...work with what you have, this is how it was done here but the principles are still there.

did you go to fullsail? When i went, the 2nd month we were there we made a character and animated him/her doing a quick action scene, in maya and not paper

I've always wondered, what paper are they using? My college only teaches us to animate in Flash. Honestly, they don't teach us all the detailed stuff of animating. ):

I have a nice trick for those who can draw but don't wanna animate frame by frame (it's going to be frame by frame, you just don't need to draw anything though) 1- animate something in 3D 2- render it. Doesn't matter what shaders you have (save it as an image) 3- open every frame of the render in whatever photo editing or drawing software 4- color your footage there you have it :P it would look 2D because you colored it's not the best way but it is faster than FBF animation

I’m sure animators don’t draw scene by scene don’t they create assets for example your have a main character don’t you create the body pieces separately? than you add them all together and move one of the pieces for example the arm or is this what they normally do now with 2d animation?

Animation is a long and tedious task, but it is so much fun! If you happen to be a fan of games and animation, I recommend trying to get the Nintendo DSi-XL and using it's free app "Flipnote Studio". It is a good way to keep an animation studio at hand; letting you just whip it out anytime and start making a short animation. The animating part was pretty much the whole reason I got it. Another fun thing about it is that you can share the animations online through flipnote.hatena.com, it's l

it doesn't have to be perfect just a simple rig would do. You can improve how the character looks in your drawing. If you ask me, making a good rig would mean to make the whole animation in 3D :P
@projectRaMan11 жыл бұрын
you forget about rigging. you limit yourself to what you can create if you don't know how to rig and have to have someone else do it for you. that's the most difficult part.
