Hello 👋🏼 I'd say make smaller batches more often throughout the day. Keep an eye on your weekly and monthly sales, and schedule a timeline system for staff to follow of how much to cook and when based on the upcoming sales. There will be less waste this way. 👍🏻 Hope this helps.

This is so very informative! Thank you for sharing! My husband and son and I are almost finished building our concession trailer for a mobile boba tea business. So with very limited space, I’m mostly going to do the 3 in 1 powders and also jasmine green tea. I figured I’d just make the tea sweet and let the customer choose wether they want regular boba or popping boba. Any suggestions or advice? I am soooo excited to start this journey! Love your videos!
@BubbleTeaKristin

Hi! Glad the videos are helpful! I've got loads made JUST for people like yourselves 😍 Because you asked for my advice, I'll share a few thoughts: Start off however you'd like as it's your own business. But I would suggest to do as many taste tests with 'subjects' (your target market) as you can. Make up the drinks using your AIO (all in one) powders, but also source other brand samples and types and whip those up for taste tests as well... you truly want to deliver the BEST drinks possible out there for your customers. The volume of powders needed for AIO vs. powder, flavor and fructose isn't that different in terms of how much space it will take up. If one customer doesn't really like your drinks, they just won't come back. They'll drive an extra 20-minutes to get the best tasting drinks, over the local place nearby. I know you're limited on space, but you can still make a small tea urn of black and green tea each morning to accommodate for both milk teas and fruit teas. Again - a small tea urn won't take up a huge amount of space either... I agree with your sweetness technique. If they want it less sweet - they can ask. And yes... letting them choose between tapioca pearls vs. juice balls is a good idea. 👍🏼 Hope that's a good starting point - again my opinion 😁

Great Idea! Thank you so much for these very helpful videos! I have a question that might sound dumb but I'm still new to this, What do you need the hot water urn or container for? is it used for infusing the tea in the morning? or do you use it to prepare some of the drinks? thanks a lot.
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin Жыл бұрын
Hello Nouhaila, Here's a link to one of my popular in-shop recipes which explains about how to make a milk tea using powder. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jOCRiN2GyZOah3k.html Hot water is needed to truly dissolve bubble tea powder. If anyone tells you otherwise, I'd do a taste test of their drinks to confirm. 😅 But honestly it depends if you're using fresh ingredients, then you wouldn't need it necessarily, however you will be needing extremely hot boiling water temperatures in order to brew the tea in large quantities, so unless you have an on-demand spout with boiling water from the tap, it's best to get a hot water urn of some sort. 👍🏻

I see a deep fridge top glass sliding door. How is she able to get the stuff in there if it’s under a counter? Does the fridge can be slide or moved?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
From memory, the gastronome pans fit in on slots above the refrigeration area, so no cold air escapes but keeps the contents in the pans cold. Then during periods of non-use or overnight, the top handle bar section slides down and keeps the air in the whole unit. So it's kind of like a two and one, instead of getting a fridge and a refrigerated toppings bar, it's a toppings bar built into a fridge. These are seen used a lot for pizza parlors and smoothie shops. Hope that helps! 😇

I found the ice machine details very important in interview 1 and loved how lean the actual process making is here... Powder, Syrups, filtered hot/cold water, tea, shaker, blender, and sealer. Boom! Curious if you have a different setup, Kristin? And do you think it's beneficial to an auto shaker & sealer & water filter for folks starting out?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cristal, Yamile got inspiration for her shop set up from my layout, yes. It's all about having a flow, so your thoughts will stay in flow too and this way staff are less likely to mess up. Shaker machine: definitely. Especially for when you're dealing with powders. Who wants to stand around shaking all day long? 😅 Sealer, yes, unless your want a lid... But what if someone wants to do delivery or needs to put it in a bag? Either way you'll need a backup sealing machine. Water filter? I didn't have one. Depends on your area. Some areas have really hard water or even unsafe water. So def contact your local government and get your water tested before you start serving drinks in it 😉. Hope all that helps 😇

is the shaker machine really necessary? i always just use a blender if we get really busy, also why dont you use a fructose machine they re really cheap on ali express but idk i like it, but what do you think about them? btw i love your vids
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob 👍🏼 So, in the first video, Yamille explains that fructose machines are very messy and tedious to clean. They're also an extra expense that isn't really needed. But it all comes down to your personal preference. Unless you are ice-blending your fruit teas, putting them into a blender seems like an extra step to clean up. The idea with shaking, is that you are taking a drink and getting it down to the coldest level as possible (like a Martini). Rather than simply pouring a beverage over ice. Hope that helps 👍🏼

Good question. I think if you're on the east coast, it's best to contact Yamile direct and see who she gets hers from. But I know from experience that each big bubble tea supplier usually carries it. Because they know about the liquid separating. If they don't, and you've already got a supplier, perhaps request they carry one for you, as you're probably not the only purchaser needing it.

Really informative. What are the jams used for vs the flavored syrups?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
It depends if you are wanting your fruit teas to have any bits in them... Then you would use the jam. Or if you are doing the jam at the bottom of a cup and then adding ice and milk on top of it type thing. But usually if people are doing a fruit tea they'll go for a liquidy syrup and generally if they're doing a milk tea they'll go for the powder. But the jams can also go really nicely with a milky base as well... 😃☺️

I plan on making smoothies in addition to boba tea. What blender brand would you recommend to make smoothies and the size?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cassandra, There are many different options... I think go for something that is professional grade. Perhaps go to your local Jamba juice or big brand like that and see which branded blenders they use. Don't go for something because people at home recommend it as influencers, but actually go for brands that are industrial strength. You'd be surprised how many times you're going to be turning that thing on every day. ☺️👏🏼 Also, get the type that has the sound proofer attachment that it fits into. That way when you turn it on you can close the lid and it will be a lot quieter. Personally I'm not a fan of the noise that blenders make. 😂

@BubbleTeaKristin

Hi Nathenia, Air tight containers for the powders. This way no bugs get inside and the flavors are retained. 👍🏼 For the syrups, honestly it's whatever you want! I prefer to keep mine in the original containers and use pumps. But if the syrups are not as thick, like in this video, then you can use the same type of dispensers Yamile uses. 😍

I am not familiar with grease traps. But my staff would just NOT drop any pearls while rinsing it... We never had any issues. But if you wanna be fool proof, and understandably so, I've seen shops use a simple sink plug sieve type thing which will catch any accidentally fallen bobas before they make their way down the drains. I think bubble tea shop owners don't usually like to share the specific companies they use... But there are many different brands available in the USA to purchase from. But I will see in the future if each owner is willing to share that information 😏 I always recommend to possible start ups, to contact as many bubble tea supplies companies as possible and pay for a sample package. This will allow you to do side by side taste tests and find which brand you like the flavor of the best, and simply order through them. 😍

Hello, hoping to get some advice. I owe a Very small cafe (Mickey's Place) way way upstate Massena NY, that I started selling bubble & boba tea at. Since I'm so small and the fact that my food guy couldn't get them I just started ordering from Amazon. Was working fine I'm the only one selling in my town so it definitely was helping, till everything doubled but ok as we both know alot of things have. But now everything is sold out and I can't even get it. Helllpppp lol I can't afford to lose the sales. Can you share who you get yours from. If so thankyou I definitely owe you. If not I do understand and best of luck have a great day :)
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cathleen, Thanks for the comment. Hope I can help! I checked out your shop on Google Maps. 👍🏼 So first off, I wouldn't stress too much. On your listing, I don't see any bubble tea pictures for your menu of what you sell. So anyone who goes there expecting bubble tea will only be your regular customers, and I'm sure they'll understand the situation of the shortages happening around the world if you explain, maybe put it some newspaper article print outs showing about the shortages, etc. In the time that it takes for suppliers to restock, I doubt any other bubble tea shops will open. Your so far north near the boarder... It's not like a huge metropolitan city or anything. So no stress there hopefully. Next, I understand about your fear of losing business. So, I would suggest looking to alternative bubble tea drink options. For example, using fresh fruits and milks, opposed to powders and syrups. I have a package on my website of proven recipes for just this! It's a very good option in general, and especially during these times. Lastly, if it's the toppings you're concerned about as well, I would recommend calling around to as many bubble tea suppliers that you can find on the internet as possible, and find out what are their minimum order quantities. If you can find one with a low MOQ, you can go ahead and order as many different companies as you want in order for either supplies or toppings. There's always a solution. Just takes a little understanding and imagination. So please don't worry. This will all blow over soon enough. Side note regarding Amazon: personally I think going through a distributor in America will also be the lesser expensive option, as opposed to ordering very small more expensive supplies off of Amazon. But I'm open to your reasoning behind choosing that way instead. Hope all this helps. 😇 My website is www.BubbleTeaExpert.com Feel free to check it out for fresh recipes and other documents, or if you'd like to book on for a mentoring call, etc All the best to you and your cafe!!!😁
