When you did horizontal scans, you had to point the camera down at the point where the wall met the floor, and walk the perimeter of the room. With the vertical scans, it looks like you just spin around the room you're in to capture it. Is that the right way now? I'm still walking the perimeter while holding my phone facing forward. If all I have to do is a 360 Wonder Woman style spin, it'll save a lot of time.

With the vertical scan, we advise walking the perimeter while holding my phone facing forward as you normally would. The only difference is the baseboard is no longer the focus point. In this way, we can get more context of the rooms.

This guy has a point. Is there no way someone from Cubicasa can perform a full TOTAL scan and record it, from every stage in the scan and to an outside garage for example. The tutorial notes have very conflicing methods, e.g.not opening small space doors, etc. @@cubicasa4133

Where is the outside patio and can I see the finished floor plan anywhere? If no utside patio, what if customer wants to show this on the plan? How is that scanned? What if the garage is out at the back of the garden, how is that scanned? Thanks

I had the same question about a detached garage/apartment a few months ago. According to the folks at CubiCasa, as long as the other building is within 300 feet of the main house, you can walk out to it while continuing the scan. It'll show up as a separate floor in the finished product. I did one a couple of weeks ago like that, and it came out perfectly.

Very helpful indeed, thanks Wayne. I noticed also, the iphone tutorial states not to open small spaces (doors). How does cubicasa know what is behind it in that case? And to acurately capture it? @@wayneharrison6621
