As promised, here's a video detailing how I filmed the episode "Henry's Handcar Havoc" for my wooden railway series. I will admit, it was a bit weird showing you all this but with the amount of requests I've received over the years, this video was inevitable. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them below. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

Well, now I know how you do things. Sure, what I aim at is higher than what you're doing (because I aim to be an actor working in Voice Over TV), but it's still great to appreciate the simplicity of what you do. People look for high quality in Thomas videos, but forget how much work goes into that video. For you, it's just film, edit, add that signature techno-y(?) music at the end, and upload. Having been introduced to your work whilst you were in your early stages and before I joined KZfaq, I have been a firm fan ever since. I enjoy seeing how you improve your work if you're not satisfied, and I enjoy seeing the finished product. But I understand how much you go through every time you film. Kudos! :)

Hi kekree! I'd like to tell you about one of my favorite ever pieces of camera equipment I own called a gorilla pod, it's a nice size, bendable tripod that's not to large but isn't as small as the one you use, it can get as low as the one you have, and can go higher than the boxes, I would look into it because I think you'd benefit greatly from it! Awesome behind the scenes video, I actually got some advice on how to make episodes with your Thomas merchandise. But I have one little question, When you make your camera go darker or lighter, is that how you do it with Oliver's Eleven like when he crossed the bridge the first time.
@ThomasWoodenRailway
@ThomasWoodenRailway 8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! In that particular scene from Oliver's Eleven, I filmed Oliver and Toad going over the bridge with the lights on, then went and turned them off, reset Oliver and Toad, and filmed it again. Then, I combined the two clips and put a transition between the shots. That way, it looks like the lights slowly dim as they make their way onto the Other Railway.

have you ever thought about using one of the battery powered engines for backround movement? (like the one train in the original series that pulled trucks in the backround so it looked more alive)
@ThomasWoodenRailway
@ThomasWoodenRailway 6 жыл бұрын
I have thought about that but I think the battery-powered engines don't look very good. However, I have used them in certain scenes of my series where I'm moving the camera and the engines at the same time. I'll attach a battery-powered engine to the train I want to move so that I can just focus on moving the camera. But you never see the battery-powered engines so it looks like a cool tracking shot with a moving engine! :)
@BrixVGM
