Man Framestore, WETA, Rodeo, Scanline, Luma and Mammal all did an outstanding Job i Cant wait to See which Studios did which Sequence and which character i know Framestore did the Griffin He looked Fantastic. But would be nice if they would Name the Studios behind the creatures. The Shot where Jimmy is in the water and washes His face is the best Shot of the movie. All the replacement damn man .

Zach Snyder _could_ be making some amazing movies -- as long as somebody else is writing it and a strong producer is keeping him focused. Otherwise he gets lost in the action/cinematography/special effect... at the expense of story.

That spider scene was there for no other reason than to 'look cool.' Why would anyone's choice be to go hand to hand with your 2 arms against an 8 legged apponant? I was watching this with my 12 year old son and as soon as the spider started attacking he shouted, "Why doesn't someone shoot it in the head?" Why indeed. I wish that was the only problem. It really just felt like a 2 + hours Zack Snyder FX bucket list.

I honestly went into this wilfully wanting to enjoy it but wow. I keep coming back to it but there is more chemistry and camaraderie in the first 10 minutes of the marines in Aliens than in this entire movie. Different costumes do not mean different characters. Why isn't a talented writer being given this gig? The script seemed to be the last thing they thought about. Again. Like hiring an architect after your house has been built.

@@dickmagnus The marines in Aliens are an established team that has worked together before. The characters in Rebel Moon are meeting for the first time.
@dickmagnus
@dickmagnus 6 ай бұрын
That is precisely my point. When Ripley, Burke and the new Commander Gorman meet the Marines, think about the different dynamics and how that plays out on screen. Then compare that to Rebel Moon. A group of people from vastly different backgrounds with zero interaction of any interest between them and by the end of the movie nothing has changed except they've spent some time together. Compare any number of movies that assemble teams. If you don't agree with the Aliens analogy, maybe Reservoir Dogs is a better example.

I actually thought the gryphon was an unused model from some other production and they used it to save money. Or why in the Universe would you make an alien creature identical to a gryphon, except it is black? But then you also have a mix of D&D drider and Borg queen. I enjoyed the movie, but I was surprised at the lack of imagination in the design of alien creatures.

While this movie was highly flawed and had generally poorly developed characters it is visually a very impressive experience. Its pretty amazing that they made both parts and two different versions of each cut for only $166 million which is over $60 million less than Disney spend on The Marvels. Its clear Zack knows how to stretch his dollars a lot better. I hope the upcoming directors cut fixes the issues I had with the movie.

my only criticism with the cgi of almost every flying fantasy creature I’ve seen that people have tried to design realistically in live action series, is that these creatures have mammalian ribcages. If realism is what they’re really going for those dragons and griffins in those shows are gonna need more bird- like ribcages with keels instead of flat sternums. They often leave the hips uncovered too in flight (when the wing feathers or membrane ends in front of the pelvis), which would be something else that wouldn’t really work. But hey, dragons and griffins don’t exist 🤷‍♂️

I feel like 50/50 i waiting this movie for so so long and when i finally saw it i keep with the sensation that the story have big missing moments like when you write something lightly and fast with no background or more profound scripts. I know that's impossible put all in 2 hours but some of the characters and the storyline itself was very poor. Also, i really enjoyed the behind scenes and the concept art behind it would ve nice. Specially for artists in the field like myself. But, i still wait and see the 2 part❤
