Join us Backstage as we show off a behind the scene tour of the Dollywood Express engine house. Included in this tour is a cabin tour of White Pass #70 and White Pass #192

This is a very good video and as a rail fan, I am grateful to Dollywood and Tweetsie for going to the trouble of restoring, maintaining, and show casing these fine examples of America's steam locomotive era. Living not far from Tweetsie in NC, we go as often as we can and I was aware that Tweetsie has a world renowned repair and restoration facility. I did not know that Tweetsie was an important part of Dollywood's maintenance program as well. I just returned from a cruise to Alaska and we did stop at Skagway where we rode the White Pass and Yukon Railroad steam excursion. All I can say to you is that if you like trains go and do Skagway. You will not regret it. White Pass currently is running #73 which is a narrow gauge Mikado.

+Whistle Stop Productions Its beside the shop out of sight. The cab and other appliances are outside the shop. The wheels under 70 are off of 72 and the wheels that are setting beside 71s cab are from 70.

1. Best. Amusement park train. Ever. 2. The assertion from the tour guide that the train doesn't pollute that much and is akin to an automobile is a bald faced lie. He almost sounded nervous saying it, like he was afraid he'd get called out for it. That thing is a pollution machine. Cool as shit; but a pollution machine.

well believe it or not... most of a steam locomotive's exhaust is not smoke but rather water vapor "aka steam" that is leaving the steam chest.... last time I checked... water vapor was not harmful

I am very aware that the pollution of a coal fired steam locomotive... but Matt Man obviously has very little knowledge on steam locomotives and I wanted to put things in simple terms he could understand
