@@SungazerDNB To be fair, Mark talked almost entirely about a song that is accredited to Soule throughout this video. I don't even think it's necessarily implied that Mark did any of the direct, real musical mixing of it. Only that he was given tidbits of it for making in-game sounds and also initially sent WIP pieces for his input on it throughout its 'baking'

I’m 76 and replaying Skyrim has kept me sane during 10 months lockdown. This time round I graduated to mods after after completing most quests (excluding thievery, vampirism etc...not for me) I rate this quest as the best I have encountered. Because of my age I took the ninja route ( 100% sneak, enhanced dwarven crossbow, double enchanted Daedric swords etc) and I echo the sentiment that if Bethesda haven’t approached you they really should. Keep the ideas coming mate.

Some people are saying "It's a new game, write a whole new theme!" While I'm sure Soule could come up with something good, the theme from Morrowind IS the Elder Scrolls theme. Asking them to change it is like asking Lucas to get a new theme for a new Star Wars movie. I think doing variations on the theme is a great idea, but abandoning the main theme of the series... No. Just... no. This shit right here is perfect!

@@thealphatopian1031 Yes. But those are allegations not confirmed incidents with evidence (not to ignore or downplay the severity of sexual assault allegations). Has there been any word on him actually being given the boot? And what I meant was that, even from his work on earlier games in the franchise or other material he's made, there's simply almost no footage available of him composing or showing his process and barely even any interviews on it either, which is strange for such a high profile, well regarded composer, regardless of if it's games instead of movies that he composes for.

I listen to the Skyrim soundtrack so much at work (I am a Video Game artist at Bossa Studios) and I absolutely LOVE it. Another soundtrack I listen to is Basil Poledouris's Conan The Barbarian composition. The two are similar in a lot of ways in terms of both their epic moments and their more intimate moments. Aside from loving Skyrim as a game, I think it appeals to me a lot because it reminds me of being a child and watching the conan films, or seeing incredible art work from Frank Frazetta and Roger Dean. I wonder if Mark Lampert or Jeremy Soule were inspired at all by the Conan Soundtrack?
@TBStudios917 жыл бұрын
Iain Gillespie once on facebook a user compared mr. Soule to Poledouris and he was extremely flattered, so yes, I think so
@BestKCL Жыл бұрын
Ayyy I was just listening to Conan the other day, and I like Frank Frazetta too (mostly to try and find what BGS ripped straight from his artwork for TES, lol) But yeah, I guess I wonder if Conan inspired any game music artists too. But you know which game's soundtrack it _definitely_ inspired? Ark: Survival Evolved! Tbh, Ark is like Conan's theme, but reinterpreted and elevated.
