Behind the Scenes: Playing a Concert During Covid

This short documentary, commissioned by County Hall Arts, follows me through one of three charity concerts organised for employees of St Thomas' Hospital, London, during the pandemic in August.
It was an incredible experience to perform on this specially-made bamboo stage overlooking the River Thames, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Thanks to the brilliant filmmaker Kate V Lewis, camerawoman Serafina Pang and sound recordist Tom Fisher, I'm grateful to be able to share this live concert with you!

I am new to this kind of music. I liked Recuerdos de alhambra, and I found it a way to exit this world. Only few people understand emotions in music. The look on her face when she plays shows how her emotions have grown up with music.

Thank you Alexandra for this concert, it's great not only because you support the hospital employees in fighting the Coronavirus but you also spread the love for classical music to people. The audience don't look particularly excited maybe because they don't listen to classical music but I bet after this concert, they'll discover the beauty of classical music and thank you for that.

I love listening to her play. All the notes are crisp and clear. She chooses pieces that I like as well. Enjoy her videos very much. 3/4 through the video during the People were just amazed. It’s normal playing for her but if you’ve never heard a person play classical guitar live before it’s out of this world. This was a great cause to perform for hospital staff. Well done

I suggested working on Pratten to my professor. He agreed with a scoffing attitude. Academia has a lot of catching up to do with sexism. Thank you Alexandra and all the other ladies for forging ahead.
