From the draft floor to meeting up with his family, we follow Zayne Parekh after being picked 9th overall by the Flames in the NHL Draft.

Was upset when we didn't get Tij, but I am excited to see Zayne on the blue line for years to come.

Agreed . Although it may be best for Tij as he would have been under a lot of pressure playing in Calgary to live up to his dad's legacy .

@@stephenmoncrieff2056 That aside.. Jarome wasn't drafted to Calgary either. There's always 'eventually'!

So there's a chance he could be traded to the Flames soon?

That’s our greatest legacy. We can’t be good when we need to be good. We can’t be bad when we need to be bad.

3 totally unnecessary wins long after it was blatantly obvious we weren’t going to make the playoffs. 3 wins that put us from picking 5th overall to 9th. 68 GP, 71 PTS, 14 games remaining, 2 choices: • Win all 14 games for a total of 99 PTS & make the playoffs • Lose 12 out of 14 for a total if 75 PTS & get 5th overall pick We did neither. Instead, we went 5-9-0. Total, complete, abysmal, perpetual failure.

@@JesusFriedChristthat’s the classic flames way tho. Never good enough to win but never bad enough to tank, always 17th place

@@alexwind7123well this guy was ranked 5th so what’s it matter?
@alexwind7123Күн бұрын
@@boomds5602 nothing at all, I’m hyped for this pick just saying that guy is completely correct. Flames should have lost more games in the past two seasons, everyone knew they weren’t good enough to compete. A rebuild has been very long overdue for this franchise

If we had gone 2-12 to close out the season when we had 68 GP instead of going 5-9, we would’ve gotten 5th overall pick instead of Montreal and we would’ve been able to get Tij. I will never forgive this team for failing to tank properly when we had the opportunity to get a top 5 pick instead of a 9th. We BLEW IT. That is our legacy. We suck at being good when we need to be good, and we suck at sucking when we need to suck. What kind of team sucks so bad that they can’t even suck bad enough to do something good for our future? The Iginla name does not belong on any other jersey than a Flames jersey. It is sacrilege. An absolute abomination. A disgrace to the Iginla name and to the Flames organization and fanbase. And Utah can plummet to the furthest depths of hell for what they’ve done. There will never be any forgiveness for them either. It’s far worse than when the Soyattle Krackheads stole our captain Gio. Zero forgiveness for that kind of disrespect.

Holy step back from the ledge, we're going to be garbage for years and are going to have plenty of time to draft good kids. Relax.
