@@tjfsurf yeah definitely with the Stoke. Even if it were just a few miles/kms. And they gonna drive the price up just for the standard new esc and remote they make anyways now. More mass production and easier process = lower price per processed unit.

That's not good, stoke needs more range....

The stoke is a flight friendly board. I initially felt the same wanting more range but then its purpose is defeated. Double up on batteries is the only solution but they need to rework the swapping system so it’s genuinely quick swap like the exway wave.

Not waterproof, not rated, don’t ride it in wet conditions, you’re gonna pay for every water damage by yourself

@@cRaSy2k7 which is really the only thing they needed to improve first from my point of view. Bizarre. Might have to shift across to another brand that has figured that out.

I dipped my gtr bamboo in sea water for 30 sec and it survived. but the usb board was dead. Riding 2 hrs in heavy rain was fine but not recommended.

@@jl8096 Doesn't sound good ahah. I have a lot of 'water seepage' across the path in patches where I ride. Essentially I can't avoid these puddles. Would be nice to know if I can hit them or not. @evolve never seems to reply or give advice on it.

Yeah it was a bit of an odd choice not to at least provide a slight battery upgrade, I imagine they don’t want to bring it too close to the Hadean’s specs

21700’s would probably have pushed the price up too close to the Hadean. Be interesting to know if the batteries have changed at all or if the existing ones will still work with the Hadean esc…

@@kie-skatemods4141 To be fair it’s not all about price, we are paying for Evolves R&D even if the specs are the same the way the board handles and how smooth the motor controls are will effect your experience much more. That’s why I’m willing to pay a bit of a premium.

Yeah I get you but since the hadean is almost the same size as the gtr (tiny bit wider) if they pack better batteries in it pushes the hadean out of the market. I reckon the new GTR will go up steepest street in the world now (Baldwin st) with those new upgrades, and just between u and me I reckon it will be perfect now for a mod or too... I'm talking a big external battery pack in center of board, or solar panel trailer a flexible 200w should do for that infinite ♾ ride... call it the "day - stalker 😜"

Nothing's changed.. same 1500 motors, same shitty battery

You have to swap the whole electronics, battery + motor controller + motors, for the Carbon not possible because of size factor

Different motors ( brutally needed, hope the new ones are durable, can handle vibrations ), new motor controller, new remote ( no longer ULTRA light duty ). To not upgrade the range is insane.

Same motors, not as fast. Still a 10s board vs the hadean at 12s.

Those breaks and jerky acceleration are the very reason I stopped riding Evolve, hope they’ve finally got it right this time

@GeeKIller I very much agree, boosted got it right first time with the roller remote. You get used to it though and it becomes a lot more intuitive over time

@GeeKIller That’s fair enough, I’ve had a few accidents of my own on the GTX with twitchy breaks and unexpected power loss but I’m hoping the new ECU has fixed those issues

I hope so, why else call it an upgrade. Also the components that have changed see easy to switch and avoiding battery upgrade makes things simpler too I think

I don't agree, if what they claim is true 1 of these things holds as much as 5 x 2170's as it hold 5x the energy, the physical size of 5x 2170's is much bigger than 1x 4680, again that's what they claim. If they can only fit half as many cells in they board because of size the board would still have 3 x power and range than the normal board with the 2170's. Which would be epic... one of these should be called the " Carbon Black Ultimate"

@@paulmcconachy3340 I’m talking about how thick the cell is more so when mentioning their form factor, Evolve want to make slim/sleek boards, 46mm vs 21mm it’s a no brainer which way they’d go.

@@technohc4939 the lighstrip connects to the main board battery and it probably only uses at most about 5w. Its evolve's own light strip and its controlled with the controller.

@@KK001 that's good to know, I know it might not seem much but 5w is quite a bit of power, If you put a 5w resistor in a cup of water and powered it up that water would boil pretty quick I reckon I lose about 3kms of distance with the lights on full from my riding experience and there is also heat losses through the circuit board too. I want that all to be used by the motor to give me maximum range

Upgrade not possible, for the Carbon absolutely no chance, for the bamboo you would’ve to change battery, motor controller and motors

@@ian9toes it’s the same battery, same connector, but communications protocoll changed, so series II motor controller won’t understand a series I battery‘s data unfortunately

@@cRaSy2k7 Yeah but the physical battery box hasn’t changed correct? It’s based off the original GTR platform, so it should be possible to rip out all the internals right? I’m thinking having the carbon fibre board, trucks, wheels etc, should be able to be utilised and save some $$$

Just in case you don't get a reply from evolve, I've had both GTR and Hadean. I think the GTR 2 will be much better for hill climbs as the Hadean motors don't overheat and I've driven mine up steepest street in the world (Baldwin St). Saying all that even though it costs a small house the hadean is amazingly good, with range power, torque and speed, still small enough to get through narrow tracks and now that I've done almost 2500 ks and the battery capacity is reducing still can get 30-35 ish ks. Hope that helps a bit

Couldn’t they just design a battery with a hump in the middle for the Hadean, as a plug and play upgrade. I would have thought the chassis frame setup of the Hadean would allow a bigger battery.

No, it’s still a 10s battery. That 6000w power rating is only what the motors are capable of, neither board is actually touching 6000w, the gtr is only like 1300w at full charge.

@@KK001 The battery. Motor watts don’t matter if the battery can’t supply the sufficient output and the esc can’t pass that through to the motors.

Ya, they needed to upgrade to modern cells, range needed to be improved, and hard steel fasteners needed to be used instead of the current soft metal.

The stoke did not receive modern cells or a range upgrade.

Yeah a battery upgrade was sorely needed. Once that battery is degraded a bit the range is less that ideal

Hey Johnny Come Lately this has been YEARS man... Getting new folks to ride existing inventory with updated conponets at the lower price point isn't a bad strategy.

Ahhh but you forget, the Exway atlas is not designed to make you fly like superman see one of evolves old GTR perks is the build in flying feature 😉 however to my knowledge the GT was one of the original boards you could get then others saw their design and tweaked it a bit, then they brought out the GTR and many brands got one looked at design and built their own cheaper... if one company built a hoverboard you can bet other companies would then see how it was made and then make it cheaper and maybe even better... I bet the phase remote will be copied soon that thing can take a beating and it's the only one of its kind atm

@@Heisen-burgerr yeah the price is pretty crazy. Although from what I see the range of the atlas is 34 kms (with the 160mm wheels) hadean is 40+ kms for a 85kg rider with 7inch wheels (I've done that myself) battery size is similar too 700ish Wh's from what I saw. Ideally I'd want a board that is the same size as the Hadean/ atlas with 2x 3000w motors or more which can do 100+ km so I can do overnight offroading adventures 😀, one can dream... I can say as someone coming up to 2500ks on his hadean it's working well and only lost about 5 ks of range on battery capacity so far

Me. Still have it. It's ligther than GTR and a little bit flexier. Trucks, motors and remote are the same. Battery and range is not everything...

That would be 10 miles. 16 is in kilometers. This “upgrade” is useless. 10 mile range going the slowest speed. They always calculate ranges on the lower settings. So in reality, you are getting about 6 to 7 miles going the fastest.
