Cassper is stuck in the matrix. He is now a victim of his success, he changed the game way too young. He can't go to America cz he's generic but there's not much he can do in SA. It's why he tries different sounds all the time. He must become a record executive while he still has money. You never top your peak

People complaining about Caspper's accent saying ooh he acting American and should be proud of being South African. He is an international artist, has fans in Botswana, Zimbabwe, S.A, Nigeria and the list goes on. Accent or no accent, the reality is English helps reach a broader audience even within Africa. He is representing Africa not just S.A, and it seems like other countries around Africa see the value in him more than his own people. Don't try find petty reasons to hate on your own. Music is a crucial part of changing that western perception of Africa just being worth for its minerals and wildlife. These guys are doing their part, unless you doing something its better to keep quite and observe, you might learn something.

Yeah but that’s just being fake and I see a lot of South African rappers do that, it’s like they’re so desperate to be from America so bad and honestly it’s cringe

@@simba8665 A lot of things that go on around the world is influenced by American culture especially entertainment but other countries don’t copy they do their own thing
@simba8665
@simba8665 3 жыл бұрын
@@theking4271 S.A hip hop is not even the dominant genre in South African music, i think its mostly South African influence type genres. At the same time, US artists at times out sell and chart more than local artists, even though they don't even bring their tours or acknowledge S.A fans as much. That says a lot about the fans and what they want more than local artists. Different if you check Nigerian charts, or India or Chinese and soo on. If you gonna check Cassper, probably check the fans too who are indirectly promoting that type of behavior.
@theking4271
@theking4271 3 жыл бұрын
@@simba8665 I understand what you’re trying to say but American artist outselling local artists from different countries is gonna happen because like I said American culture is the most popular around the world, you’ll see the same thing in the UK but UK rappers aren’t gonna try and sound American. And the reason why SA rap may not be as big is because one of the big elements in rap is authenticity and when I listen to a South African artist sound American in an interview or song but then go to south Africa and no one actually speaks like that then you can tell it’s not authentic they’re just so desperate to get American approval. And in terms of rap and pop music America is gonna dominate those genres regardless of the country a majority of the time because American marketing is a lot. I used to listen to a lot of South African rappers when I was younger but the more I saw these guys wanna be American so bad I stopped

Im not a hater. Let me say this. Becareful what you say anf think of yourself. That's the first point. Secondly, know and observe what you say and think of yourself. The reason being. A legend is a story. You call yourself a legend then it means Nasty C or Areece can be bigger than you and all you will be when your kid becomes a teenager is a one of story. Don't call yourself a legend if you believe your footprints were first and your ideas last. In that case you call yourself a legacy. Pearl Thusi is a legacy. Casper Nyovest and his accomplishments so far cannot be repeated by someone else without his help. He is a legand. I'm not hating. I'm just saying. Fill up for hip hop is a first. But being a first for one person is legendary. Being a first for an industry is hall of fame, that's a legacy. Hope your thinking around your moves changes to a legacy trajectory and not just a story for debates. AMN king.
