Punk was the first I think to voice about the Rock coming in and just taking over the top spot away from the locker room. Cena did it also which started their fight - verbally- on Raw, but I think it might have been Punk and he was right.

Honestly, I still don't see how the WWE thought it was the right call having him lose to the Rock, HHH, Lesnar and Taker. All part timers that just made him look worse. Also, I believe I read somewhere that Ryback has hurt some of his workers and doesn't really work safely, so Punk being too proud and working while injured and Ryback not being a great worker, again I don't see how the WWE thought it was a good idea. The WWE is definitely at fault, but knowing Vince he would not admit to anything nor have employees admit to anything so it's basically a word against word match. But keep in mind, when he left ROH, he left in tears because he was going to miss ROH. No tears were shed when he left WWE.

Ryback reportedly stiffed Punk and broke his ribs in one of the matches at the behest of Vince to teach Punk a lesson for his transgressions. WWE management knows every dirty tactic in the book to bully those workers who dare to question their antics and wisdom to conduct the business.

@Mustafa Shelby as a worker, Bret is by far the better wrestler. Triple H also buried a red hot Rvd, a red hot Booker T, sure if he had better matches it was because he also had a longer career. If Bret could’ve finished his career the way he wanted he would’ve had way more than triple h. And the shows he was most successful on were primarily the rock and stone colds prime which is credited to them cause those were the draws.

@Mustafa Shelby Brett carried diesel to a 4 star match. That alone says he’s way better than Triple H. I don’t think anyone agrees triple h is better in the ring than Bret. And yes it’s widely known triple h buried many talent Rvd is was white hot in 2002 and they snatched his momentum, he literally went over on Goldberg when Goldberg’s whole thing is to squash nothing else and they made him lose clean, booker t that speaks for itself, he even came out of retirement to beat punk and stop his momentum. He was also part of the kliq who also held talent down too. Attendance isn’t a factor since wwe is known to over inflate those numbers. And for being a draw you listed 21 when Cena yes Cena was the most over guy in the company. Doesn’t help he married the bosses daughter. I do like his work with NXT but he is overrated and you can’t deny he isn’t.

It still amazes me that a physician could misdiagnose a staph infection? A routine tissue sample of the wound for the presence of the MRSA bacteria would have confirmed it. Could even have simply swabbed his nose and used a testing kit, which is routine for patients entering hospital for surgery. Either the doc was under a lot of pressure from management to keep Punk in the ring, or he's very incompetent...

Objectively speaking, the WWE will have one thing that no other promotion will ever have, an amazing catalogue that includes matches from the WWF, WCW, and ECW. Not to mention the Wrestling Hall of Fame.

@@peterpanos85 That doesn't really matter, besides a few guys who still make legend appearances, WWE has already milked the nostalgia cow for everything it's got, the video library isn't really as valuable as you'd think it is. Most people want to see something new and exciting, something that rivals or even outdoes the attitude and ruthless aggression eras. AEW's emergence as a viable competitor and WWE's low ratings as well as their inability to sellout venues anymore among other factors has proven that people are tired of WWE's nonsense and are willing to jump ship should a better product become available. Also, the HOF doesn't mean a thing, not a single thing.

Remember how it was supposed to be Punk vs Nash not Punk vs HHH. It's like they just had Nash attack Punk at SummerSlam and then just throw that away never have Punk avenge the attack. Then everything ended with HHH vs Nash at TLC? How is that best for business? HHH along with his Kliq buddy definitely buried Punk & Punk's momentum. A lot of people say Vince is the reason the WWE is failing. But why can't they add HHH in there?

CM Punk wasn't drawing the numbers they did. Hogan and Nash were more successful in there time, drew more money and did more for the wrestling business then he ever did. The numbers don't lie. some of y’all saying all punk did was “complain” lmao. i’m almost positive half of you could barely withstand half of what he did. they really shitted on him and he was quite the worker and half of his disputes were absolutely valid. vince loves to shit on potentially very loyal people, while having a hard on for part time steroided stars.

Triple H should've put him over, Lesnar should've put him over, HHH should've put him over, He should've took the streak. Watch that match with Taker, he carried Undertaker through that whole match. And he wrestled with Ryback who injures people. But he can't be put in the spotlight cuz of Rocks, Cena's, Taker's, Lesnar's, HHH's, and Vince's giant fucking egos

The difference between the attitude era and the current era is simple... In the attitude era if a wrestler got over with the audience, he got a push and potentially a title run.. In the current era the wwe hand pick the wrestler that the company wants to get over, the fans don't matter anymore. 2 reasons why imo Reason #1. Vince has lost his touch. Reason #2. WWE is a publicy traded company with stockholders and advertisers now who want to see certain wrestlers on top.

Dave Meltzer gave Punk's match with Undertaker at WrestleMania XXIX a 4.5 Stars. Compare that to Cena and Rock's match getting 3.5 Stars, and Brock and HHH's match getting 2.5 Stars.

Here's how to bring CM Punk back... 1.) Offer him $5,000,000 Dollars. 2.) Give him a spot on the latest WWE Game that year... In fact, use him to advertise the damn thing! 3.) Give him a Royal Rumble win and therefore... 4.) Not a... But THE Main Event at WrestleMania. 5.) Give him either the Universal or WWE Championship. 6.) Make sure Shane McMahon is in charge of Punk's return cause he actually KNOWS how to treat talent well. For the most part.

Punk's biggest grudge of all came from not main-eventing a WrestleMania. There was little WWE could have done about 28, Rock had signed up for the last match on with Cena a year in advance, but Punk could have been in a triple threat main at 29 and even part of a fatal four way at 30.

I hate certain wrestlers. Triple H and hulk Hogan are two that come to mind. Not that they were bad or anything, just the fact that they had a strangle hold on everything. All the talent they buried all times they made themselves look big and making things all about them. They are the worst.

HHH has fucked up more careers than anyone can imagine. The only things he has going for him is NXT -- otherwise anyone that's come up to him in a feud as ended up worse off: Orton, Punk, Kane, RVD, Booker T, Roman, Cena, Edge, Jericho, Goldberg, Steiner, Sting. I think that's enough

You constantly hear how "talented" a wrestler is because of championships. But isn't that more so because they are favored by writers? It does take talent, but that doesn't mean that it should be "proof" of their talent. It's "proof" of the script.

Issue is people often take years to go back(Warrior), go back when they need money(Flair, Hogan) or go back when Vince reaches out to them in their hour of need (Bret Hart). With Punk I don't see him ever needing the money, I hear the guy is very fugal and doesn't desire the finer things in life, I think he's been so badly burned he wouldn't ever back even in 20 years and unless he has a serious health scare like Bret where WWE helps him I don't see him ever going back much like his hero The Macho Man sadly. Hopefully he does but I very much doubt it

I stopped watching the WWF/E after Stone Cold retired, and started watching it again because of CM Punk. Its sad the way Punk was treated by Vince, Triple H and the WWE. CM Punk himself admits he is a jerk, BUT he was 1 of the biggest WWE stars in the WWE. And was not treated like he was.

WWE has a long history of neglect and treating its EMPLOYEES like fungus. Chris Benoit? Neglect to the point where his brain was older than his body. CM Punk? Several intended injuries inflicted by brutes. Rey Mysterio? They're holding him hostage nowadays. CM Punk also has a contract with FOX, which means he's part of the WWE whether he likes it or not. I loved his Face runs. Didn't like the hole "Straight Edge Society" angle personally though that's 100% personal opinion. He may have been irresponsible with his fractured skull but for the others, he was just neglected and abused. In that match with Hunter, he should've broken Kayfabe and Hunter's knee. I would have. And break it in a way that meant Hunter would never walk properly again. Hunter's "Cerebral Assassin" nickname is well-earned because he is a real life asshole who bedded his way to power. To quote a famous video game "The game was rigged from the start."
