During try guys history, Ned was painted as the lead guy, the leader of the group and the one that made things happen so it’s amazing to me that now with all that’s happening, everyone is getting to see that Zach is and was all along the one, he is the moment, the heart of the try guys

Watching this after Ned's colossal fuckup and departure is painful and heartbreaking. Like you, I am watching this after all the Ned drama of cheating. I agree it is weird watching this after Ned has been removed from the Try Guys. I hope the other three can move forward and escape the drama Ned's cheating scandal. How sad for years; he has been portraying himself as a "wife guy." I feel sorry not only for his kids, the other guys, and most of all, his wife Ariel, who, let me add, has removed their wife from her Instagram profile. I know that the other guys will be able to move forward from the drama concerning Ned. I hope the guys can be in the spotlight for something unique they have done, not for all the Ned drama videos other creators have created.

So let me get this straight. Ned's future/alternative plan was to get into lifestyle and home design which revolves around and is completely based on his wife's talent and literal profession - and on top of everything else, he still completely devalued her and their relationship. Good thing he has a science degree from Yale because he's fucked any chance of staying in entertainment.

Honestly, yeah. That's part of why his tantrum at Zach over the Try DIY video backlash they showed in the movie really bothered me. The way he talked it was as if he did ALL of it... when his wife is the interior designer who lays out 99% of the vision for their clients/friends. Never "my and my wife's project", no "Ariel & I worked hard on that", no... just "MY project." Like sir... you might have pitched the idea and paid for it yourself, but your WIFE did the rest.

@@Chibbykins Try Guys seem to attract viewers whose need for lecturing and advocacy exceeds their love for humor. After all, Try Guys make entertainment which has its own constraints, especially in terms of fair representation of people. Being slightly offensive or hurtful towards someone is one of the core elements of almost any humor that is not overtly childish or overtly intellectual (i.e., humor that has mass appeal). The fact that Try Guys are willing to make themselves the butt of the joke, instead of bashing outsiders, should indicate what their core values are. But despite this, some of the viewers feel the need to lecture Try Guys for every little thing that can be seen as "offensive". It makes me understand why many youtubers decide to be offensive from the get go and attract people who don't care about fairness or social advocacy. The part when Eugene called his sister to announce this huge life accomplishment and they reacted with a “oh, good for you I guess” sort of reaction hit me so hard. So many of us have always longed for that approval of our siblings and parents and nothing we do will ever be celebrated in the way we want it to be. Some people don't show the range of emotion they actually feel. For some, it takes time to sink in. For others, they have to actively process that information later on. I have a 1-10 range of emotion like everyone else but outwardly only show 3-8. I also have to process things later on. My brother quit his job and became a preschool teacher. It took me months to tell him I was proud of him for following a passion and I did it in a note with a gift. Eugene's family is very reserved. This is less well articulated than the other comments responding to this one. But the point of the matter is: Eugene’s sister’s lack-luster response(although can be viewed as genuine distaste/ uninterested/jealousy) was actually just banter. She’s actually SO VERY proud of him.. the same way he acted as it wasn’t a big deal, she responded in kind, and gave him a bit of a sarcastic pinch.. He explains that this is their regular banter in vids(and their book).. I’m happy he has her approval; as insincere as it comes off.😅😅❤️❤️❤️

I'd heard from some internet random that this particular thing painted Ned in a horrible light - but it really doesn't, and I don't understand why they interpreted it that way. He was understandably upset, because his project he worked hard on was unilaterally taken down by another member of the team without even discussing it. Keith was mad, too, and it wasn't even really his video. Like I know Ned's done some bad stuff recently - but this particular example has nothing to do with that.

I’m so surprised to learn that Ariel and Maggie got hate after the Try DIY video. I have always seen them both as loving, funny, smart, capable, supportive people and great partners to Ned and Zach, respectively. I’m so sorry that some fans didn’t see that and made such negative comments about them. I hope very much that that is always the minority that voices anything like that. Neither of them deserve that kind of hate. It is a privilege to get to see them in more content now and I hope that they both feel as though they’re still also able to keep the boundaries that keep them comfortable in living the lives they want to lead. This also, of course, all applies to Becky and Matt, as well as Wes and Finn for their parts in the Try Guys videos, and the rest of the company. You all give of yourselves to us and that is a real gift. For anyone to act otherwise is out of line and wrong in every way. Thank you all, Second Try, and your families, for all that you do.

Okay so the thing you need to understand: tense in Korean (so past, present future) is much SIMPLER than tense in English. When she says "I think he'll change" she's actually describing beliefs she had in the past. You can pick that up from the context around it. She's describing how she felt when Eugene was younger. So I'm guessing it just translated poorly from Korean to English.

Eugene! You 👏 are 👏 not 👏 responsible 👏 for representing 👏 communities 👏 of BILLIONS 👏 of people. That stress to be a “model minority” is so detrimental, not just to yourself, but to others who are in similar situations. We love you, and I think I speak for most Queer Try Guys fans when I say: we just want you to do you. The moments that inspired me the most, were when you laid down some guards and talked about how your mother was in denial. I can relate to it and I just want you to know that we support you- model or not.

So well said! I found myself many times throughout the years of more behind the scenes videos, and in this documentary, worrying about the amount of mental and emotional pressure, Eugene puts on himself. I get it....of course. Having a bit of a perfection struggle myself, but I know how damaging that is to my own mental health. Nothing ever being good enough, even though I have all the validation, and evidence to say that it is. Especially for Eugene and Zach, I pray they can adopt a positive internal monologue, and find peace and acceptance in just their being, not only in what they are doing.

I’m embarrassed to admit how much the Ned scandal has rocked me this past month. Seeing Eugene’s pure fury and sense of betrayal hit me so hard. But I stand by my prior comment that the best five seconds in this doc is Eugene dancing, and full throttle Fulmer running on with the pride flag. Being flawed is as much of the human condition as laughter, shame, and love. Ned has betrayed his wife, children, friends, and colleagues. Horribly. But I use this five seconds of tremendous ally-ship to remind myself… we are, none of us, all good or all bad. I hope for the healing of Ariel, Wes, Fin, the new tri-guys, 2nd Try, and Ned. There is hope for all of us, despite our flaws. Small and horrific.

I agree with Zach's explanation of why Eugene should be proud of putting his coming out video onto the Try Guy's platform. The most charming thing about their channel is that they all have their own honest videos about their real lives. It's in the video Keith made about making a miniature golf course for Becky, and Zach's video about his disability and ankylosing spondylitis, and Ned's video about his family. It's nice to relate to someone. It feels cathartic in alot of ways. I think releasing literal art like Eugene's coming out video is incredibly important for that platform, and especially for people who would never have the opportunity to see art like this in their real life, for whatever reason.

I know we're all looking at Ned in a new light right now and we're overanalyzing some parts of videos, so take this with a grain of salt. But if I were Zach at ~1:14:03 I would have been fuming. Imagine being lectured for making a mistake, having your feelings invalidated by that same person, and then receiving a petty little comment like that from them after apologizing and trying to fix it. I don't think I would have been able to let it go to focus on the show after that.

@@charliebear154 I disagree. The very first thing both Keith and Ned said was that Ariel got more hate. That is dismissive of Zach and Maggie's concerns. His anger was justified but his response would have been alright if he stuck only to his point of Zach pulling down the video without discussing it with the others. Instead, just like Ned, he reacted by first stating that he only saw hate towards Ariel, thereby dismissing Zach's feelings. That's wrong. Eugene was the only person who addressed how Zach was feeling and spoke in an appropriate and empathetic tone. We can agree to disagree.

Watching this now was so sad :( it felt like a goodbye to the Try Guys. Ned ruined years of work building a community with these four at the center. I know the channel will be okay but it’s just so deeply sad to have to know this is ending. I wish nothing but the worst for Ned. I also just wanted to say that Eugene is the bravest person I’ve ever seen. I am so glad to see the happiness that coming out and getting to express himself the way he chooses has brought him. He glows and is so fun and goofy and beautiful and that depth is something we didn’t get to see before his coming out video. Zach too. I know they say it in this documentary but the persona Zach puts on for videos is so far removed from the version we see here. This version, one that seems closer to the real him, has so much more depth and is far easier to relate to. I hope he becomes more comfortable with trying less, because when he just shows up as himself, that’s when I like him. As he is, without the show. I really hope this channel gets to stay the same until it reaches a natural end. I hope this isn’t the end.
