Behringer B2031A Truth Active Monitors: Assuming The Controls Of Your Monitor

The controls on the back of many home studio monitors oftentimes go unused by home studio beginners. Bill Holland breaks down the controls on the back and explains what to do when you need a boost or when you should probably roll off.
Other features cater towards convenience, like the power conservation mode when the monitors are not in use because the truth is that if you're looking for a pair of budget-minded monitors like the B2031A's, chances are that you're not investing a whole lot more money in a separate computer designated solely for recording.

I have used these monitors in my studio for about 4 years now with hundreds (probably more than a thousand) hours of use on them. I have never had a problem with them at all. I always hear Behringer getting an undeserved rap.I have had no problems with any of my Behringer stuff. They all seem just seem to work fine. These monitors are heavy at 33 pounds each so you may want to make sure your shelf or stands can hold that much weight.I also suggest spaeker isolation pads like the Auralex pads.

I've had these speakers for well over 10 years and have used them almost every day and I love them...probably the best product behringer ever made...at the price point it was at..although if something does go wrong with it, I know damn well I'm screwed, but they have been legit...my friend had a pair and blew the tweeters but that was probably his own fault for using them as a pa system for a live show or whatever other nonsense...haha....but if you can find some working for a low price, ...damn, now that I think about it ,..I should probably try to buy a pair of these or at least one for an emergency spare...bye headed to ebay

Mistake: Audio input trim ... if you connect monitors with a pro audio source and balanced cables, then set the trim to 0, the monitor will produce 100% output when your audio input is at +4 dB (max output). For unbalanced connection, you can turn the trim higher as input will be low at -20dB. The 3 frequency adjustments are purely for room acoustics, if you use a proper sub, the intergrated sub cross over will cut the bass fed to the monitors at a selectable frequency.

Hey guys, I have ordered these speakers, they have not arrived yet but I want to test them as soon as they are at my place- do i need a male or female XLR cable ending for the speakers?

I bought 4 speakers off of this guy, 3 work perfectly and 1 has a problem where the highs don’t work. I swapped the tweeters from a perfect speaker to the broken one and no difference. When I mute the lows, there’s no sound as the highs are broken. Would this be a circuit board issue?

Well, Behringer told me the MUTE button is for them to use while servicing the thing. Anyhow, amazing that this same monitor is widely sold still as of late July 2021. Talk about a perennial bloomer.

Hello bro why's that any time I finish making a song using this speakers the song sounds really great in the studio but when I take it out there and play it on the big club speakers it sounds like shit. E know it doesn't sound same as it was in the studio. And trust me bro I do everything on a professional level I mix master my songs to really good I spend time I do everything correctly. And most time when I play the song outside it sounds too louder than the normal songs I hear even though I don't mix it yet. But in the studio it sounds great. Please is the problem from my speakers? Maybe it's not giving me the right frequency e know maybe am having the wrong frequency. Because I go work in other studios and it comes out great but anytime I work in mine it's always comes it shit. And I use this shitty behringer speakers . Please help me bro. Should I get the KRK5 speakers? I heard they are accurate.

Assuming that there is nothing between your masterbus and your speakers (EQ, Compressor, whatever...), your room is probably problematic. Perhaps in combinatio with mixing too loud. Treat your room first, Set up you monitors in a equilateral triangle (L-R-Listening position). Monitor at +/- 85db (MAX!). If you mix for clubs & dancings, you also want to add an extra sub. Don't add a sub if your room isn't treated well because you'll make things worse than they already are. Good luck!
