Yeah super Dave will find a killer tune out of any piece of gear that you hand him. He just has the knack for it and he has the ears for it. I always love the background melodic melodies he has in his jams like this.

I’m only 1 year in to my guitar journey and I can’t explain how much You, sir, together with Frusciante inspire me. Sometimes I get frustrated when I don’t feel like I’m progressing, but then again I listen to THIS kind of music and remember that there’s a reason I love it so much.. Thank you, I aspire to be at least half as good as You some day.

That does sound great. Really liked the sound of that LP through it straight away. Lovely intro jam. I've been a bit Behringer-wary since a poor mixer experience (noise and bleed), but it has to be said that they do make some nice gear at reasonable price-points, particularly a lot of the inexpensive outboard workhorse stuff. Never considered them for an amp but would definitely at least give them a try after this endorsement. Thanks, and I hope all is well in your world :-)

that's superb Dave. The tone, taste and feel are really top shelf. I'm sure many people will listen to this many times. Based on this we should all buy three of these. Two for ourselves and one to give away to a good mate or brother. These are great for the money I think. If ya can get the 40 with more features. Great Dave. Enjoyable where some demos are torture. Rock on! Bye for now.

because of this video, I have bought it! I had it already on my radar from Dave's/Anderton's "sound like" videos. I have it now 2 day's and I am happy! Yes, rolling off the highs is recommended. And depending on the music I also roll off more or less lows. Playing powercords over the drive channel is nice, but I prefer my drive pedal over the clean channel. The reverb is good, yes, it is a real spring reverb, kick your amp Dave, you will hear the spring vibrating.

Hi Dave love your station. I have an unrelated question I would like to ask you. I am looking at purchasing either the boss katana mk2 artist or the Orange super crush 100 combo. I have watched your video's on both. The quality of the D.I. is important to me as the venues I play often require everything go through the board. I have a boss GX100 so built in effects are not a thing. Having played both up close in a room which in your opinion has the best over-all tone? This is my first forage into solid-state coming from all tubes. Thanks for any insight you might offer.

Great sounding amp! I don't agree it's just a bedroom amp though. You can gig with any amp nowadays. It all gets miked and goes through the PA system. I don't even take an amp to gigs nowadays, just a preamp pedal with a DI out. Sounds fine and no stage volume means an easier and clearer mix.

I put a Jensen C12N Ceramic Vintage (4 ohms) in mine, the box is made for a 10" speaker but a 12" fits, and cutting the larger opening is not tough, it's MDF. For only 131€ + 94€ for the speaker I got myself a first class amp. The 10" Jensen ceramics don't yield more than 25 watts but that's just as well, the larger one gives out more bass and pushes more air. You should try.

I had an early run Vintager GM110. De-badged, at a distance, if you squinted, it looked like a small Fender valve amp. Part-way between a Pro Jr and a Blues Jr. It was loud enough to use as a stage amp, with the *excellent* DI going to the stage snake for FOH. I was complimented a few times, by drunken neck-beards who sniffed corks for a hobby, on the sound. 'Only a screaming little valve amp can sound like that' Sadly, it proved itself not waterproof. It went Phut! in a big way due to water ingress on the way home from practice and I didn't dry it properly before powering it up at home.

@@simseven4967 Let's call it a 'Loving Tribute' to the Tech 21. Much love went into creating a 'tribute' 'character profile' for the analogue modelling side. That aside, it had the DI of the Trademark 60, an effects loop, headphone out and speaker out. Behringer claimed 30 Watts rms. Neat trick with a power IC rated by the manufacturer for rather less than that. Realistically, it was ~20 Watts, but the power supply was fed by a very capable transformer with a lot of smoothing capacity in the circuit, so it didn't fart out at high volume levels. It'd easily keep up in a band situation. The Jensen speaker was superb too. A good match for the amp. I sort of miss it. Turn up, plug the DI in to the PA, set the amp on a stand firing across the stage as a monitor more than anything, and it performed really well. Using a loadbox into the speaker-out and the DI, it even allowed 'all PA/no onstage amplification'. I may miss it, but unless one was inexpensive, I think I'd spend the money on a second-hand Trademark. I have too many amps now anyway. Yes, it can be a thing.

Want any guitar and any amp to sing just give it to Dave. and his fingers effortlessly find the tones that make it sound great. I could pick up the same guitar through the same amp and make it sound rubbish (even if the settings were left the same). The magic is all in Dave's fingers and his head - he thinks and the equipment behaves the way he wants it to. That I believe is called genius !

Sounds good ..... I just bought a Marshall DSL 40 CR combo 1000 bucks new from ZZounds. I needed something smaller with a 12inch speaker in it. The amp seems OK but I feel its a little weak. It has a 20/40 power switch which is good but still not enough power. I am getting older now and hawling big 4X12 cabs around are no more. Maybe I'll try to put foot pedal between pre/power amp see if I can get more power. Sometimes you can hook a pedal like distortion and maybe a mxr phase 90 which I never leave home without and boost the power. The DSL 40 is a tube amp running on 2 EL34 power amp tubes. Should be more volume . My original plan was to purchase a Marshall JCM 900 4101 100 Watts and 1X12 speaker. I may still get one. But yeah I have a double 4X12 Marshall cabinets being pushed by a Marshall JVM 410 100 watt and I got a Mesa Dual Rectifier Roadster 100 watt 2X12 combo that weighs a ton but sounds awesome. Play on bro Play on.
