Wtf?! 8 banks, each with 8 patterns?? Is that like 64 patterns?? So it’s made to chain patterns in each bank basically? Honestly that’s amazing, I love it. Might pick one up

is there a way to turn off the play recieve from an outside sequencer? Like i still want the clock from the midi, but i dont want the sequencer to play on the ms 1, i only want the ms 1 to play the sequence from the external sequencer. See what happens is if i make a sequence on my digitakt and press play, it will start the ms-1 sequencer and i have to press the play button on the ms-1 to stop it and then the digitakt sequence will take over. Idk if there is a way where i can just save a totally blank patch maybe with rests so if i cant stop it from playing itll just play but with no notes. If you could lmk if theres a way around that you would rule! thanks!

Any advice on best way to midi connect a TR8s, TD3 and the MS1-?? Got it connected in that order, but sound from MS all weird?

i have my ms 01 sync ed to Yamaha RX 11 as MIDI slave, it works only that everytime i hit play in RX11 the sequencer/arp of the ms 01 play automatically on 1/16 notes while i want it started on 1 1/8 notes. what can be done in this case? TIA

There are several ways to do that, but I don't feel like writing an essay about rigtht here. Hope you understand. Look into the Behringer software allowing you to chain patterns, right?

And also, listen to Venus Hum's Hummingbirds from 2001.(I love that song and the sound used). Also sounds like what you did on the MS101. Also possible on the Kross 2??

Hi my play/stop button is dead after setting up the correct adjustment based on your initial set.. I can not start the sequence nor arp within a basic one note triggering, itz just dead. Where can be the problem please?

0:44 what's causing the LFO effect, that sounds a bit like phasing? I'm not familiar with these but it looks like the MOD amounts are all turned to zero. Is that just an LFO bleed that won't go away, or is it routed some other way?

It's what you would expect from analog subtractive synthesizers to do. Includind some kind of phasing effect.

@@SynthesaurusRex I own quite a few analog subtractive synths, and I wouldn't expect them to do that unless they were faulty. For example, I own two Arturia Minibrutes. One has constant modulation of one of the waveforms due to a pot that doesn't quite get to zero. The other doesn't. I'm guessing you had a bleed from the LFO to pulse width modulation, since I see it has an option to do that, which appears to be turned off. Now I'm wondering if they all do that, or if it's just a fault on yours. One thing that really bothers me is a synth that can't give me a clean stable sound. I want to add modulation to a clean sound, not have some there already that I can't remove. So, I'm now having second thoughts about buying one - you may have saved my some money.

Well, that's an interesting point you are making here! Makes me wonder: would AY have bought it as a desktop version? Answer: NO! I wanted the complete, haptic thing! The sounds it can do aren't THAT revolutionary. But it's a fun little thing I couldn't afford in 1982, but now can! 😄

Just received the MS-101 as my first ever synth and your tutorial stopped my fear of it. Haa! I've been a songwriter for years and am not a young guy.....not old either shut up....but I'm a melodic Beatles, Teenage Fanclub type of writer that has mostly used guitars, basses and keyboards but never synth....probably out of learning-curve-fear....so your tutorials have really made things smooth for me. Thanks abunchy!

Thank you for asking, that is a very good question. I personally do not like to talk in my videos, because my English is aweful. But that's not the reason why. Let me ask you this: Would this video be better if I dropped the written text and replaced it with spoken word? Would that help you understand the content better/faster?
