Great vid! I don’t really see the point in getting expensive high end pedals if they sound the same to the common ear. I just collect most of my gear second hand like one blonde man did in the 90s

I'll thank you not to describe my ear as common, even if I did just buy one of these pedals. My royal ear has only heard it at reduced volume so far, it it sounds like it will do the job. I used to have a DOD. A royal DOD, but not a Dodi, as in Di. (She heard my DOD at a gala .)

Electronics produced for pedals aren’t usually that expensive. When you pay more, you tend to pay for build quality, which is why expensive/pricier pedals are preferable for gigs-they’re very durable/heavy weight. For home setups, get pedals like behringers, or even cheap used pedals- they sound virtually the same, and you realistically don’t need to pay more for durability.

Bought my first behringer tremelo pedal the other day. After using a boss gt8 for years and still not being 100% happy with it, i decided it was time to build a proper pedal board collection. Will be buying a behringer chorus, fuzz and compresser soon and maybe throw in a few more expensive pedals.

I have one of these arriving soon. I used to use the Boss original way back when, and have other Behringer pedals I like a lot - the Digital Reverb is great! This demo confirmed that it'll do what I expected. For me, a non-chorus user generally (reverb, trem, OD, compression, echo), the sweet spot would be how you had it set at the beginning. Nice, relatively subtle sheen of modernity, not dripping with 80's excess. The more extreme settings just sound ridiculous and out of tune. Thanks for the demo!

It does sound much better than I had initially assumed it to sound. I expected a plasticy and dull tone with no character, but it genuinely sounds decent! I'm looking into a pedal board build, so it'll be considered for sure after this! I only use either a built-in chorus on one of my amps or my vintage polychorus for those dark tones.

This was the 1st pedal I got when I got back into guitars 6 years ago. My fave effect. The dual outputs on mine are more of a wet n dry outputs simultaneously (no chorus on both). Mines held up quite well over the years as I take some care of them (no heavy smershing underfoot).

I was stupidity thinking this would sound cheap & plastic-y due to it's case. As if that would have any effect on it: it's not a speaker cabinet! It actually sounds quite classy & subtle, with less in the "OTT" range than most choruses.

This Behringer chorus acts on the outputs exactly in the same "way" - or "routine", as numerous other classic chorus pedals too, like the famous Boss CE-1 and CE-2: (*) edit: Please also note my explanation in terms of the dedicated "Vibrato"-section of the Boss CE-1 at the end) The chorus effect mixes a "slight, slow vibrato-ish modulation" together with the straight, unaltered original tone. If both outputs are used, signals are splitted: One is the "slight, slow vibrato-ish modulation", the other is the original tone without effect. To get a wide "stereo image" you have to pan those two signals, one to the left and one the right on a mixer. Or you feed one output to a guitar combo and the other output to a second guitar combo. A Roland Jazz Chorus 120 Combo does internally the same, - like two guitar combos in one box - and leads the slight vibrato effect to one speaker and the unaltered original signal to the other speaker. Sounds great, btw.! So now, talking about a "real Stereo"-Chorus acting in "true stereo": Those got mostly two ins and outs. And most importantly they got two (!) modulations running at the same time. Be aware, that many other pedal effects like flangers and phasers also got a 2nd output, where just the phase is flipped for a fake stereo effect that sadly cancels* itself totally, when played through a monaural (mono) device!!! -> *Sound: Dry. Phaser gone. (*) Please note my explanation in terms of dedicated "Vibrato"-section of the Boss CE-1: Generally the definition for a "Vibrato" is described as a pitch-modulation. The original signal is periodically bent, thus the "straight" signal is absent. But - and I don´t speak for other units than my personal BOSS CE-1, because I tested that! (..if others may or should act similar or not, idc.) On the dedicated "Vibrato"-setting of my BOSS CE-1 the straight original signal is still mixed together with the warbly, modulated signal! Same as in the "chorus" setting: If both outputs are used, one is carrying the modulated signal (maybe even with a little bit of the straight signal underneath). And on the other output is still nothing else than the original signal! This should be stock behaviour of a Boss Ce-1 and it has its charms like that, of course. Now you know all that, so....Cheers! ;-D

I had the Nux Chorus once. It was pretty good for the price but now I have the Cool Cat Chorus by Danelectro. I only paid 40 CAD for it but it feels like a more expensive chorus with a metal case for something made of plastic. My only gripe with it is one of the knobs are stacked and it's a pain in the ass to adjust.
