Behringer Wing - PSE 545 & Automixer

The Behringer Wing has a plugin emulation called the PSE 545 Source Extractor. When you put this in combination with the 16 channel Automixer that is built into the Behringer Wing, it is the ultimate combo! In this video I show you how to use the PSE 545 and then put it together with the Automixer at the end.

I've been touting this very combination for years: (downward) expander + automixer! On XR18, four mics w/ expander with high pass filter* on expander into automixer during a live-stream pinball tournament with commentators. Helped speech intelligibility in that noisy room with *hundreds of pinball machines that sound like a rumbling waterfall.

I’ve been using gates the last few months in corporate with my M32. Had 14 mics open at the same time including roving Q&A handhelds, house PA was ceiling speakers. 8 Automix channels wasn’t enough but the gates were amazing. Last week had 10 mics. When only a couple mics are used I turn it off as it’s noticeable in recordings. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your videos and tips. By the way, I don't have the Wing, but the X32 or the XR18. Is there any way to do the same on them? Is it only possible by using the Gate settings (in expander mode) with the Automix on these mixers?

Hi Drew, thank you for another wing tip. Can I use Behringer Wing - PSE 545 plug-in to minimize the vocal mic feedback or eliminate feedback?

Hi Drew, we have a sennheiser wireless microphone system with a lapel mic. Not ideal as having a headset but is there a workaround to increase volume and clarity of sound without getting feedback? Thanks a lot for your helpful videos.
