This is the best explaination of sends on fader I heard so far. I didn't know bus, sends, and monitors where the same thing. Sends on fader means you are sending the control of the monitors to the faders. This cleared up my confusion.

What the DCA (Digital Control Amplifier) do is it adds or subtracts a fixed amount of dbs from each channel assigned to it. So lets say Channel 1 is assigned to a DCA and its' fader is set to -5 db, if you raise the DCA fader to 5 db then the resultant output from that channel will be Unity or 0 db. If you lower the DCA to say -5 db then the resultant output of that channel will now only be -10 db. The control to each channel of the DCA will be the sum of the fader plus whatever the DCA fader is set to. If channel 2 is also assigned to the DCA and its' fader is set to -10 db, then the two results above would be -5 db and -15 db for that channels amplifier output.

we're currently using a analog mixer but thinking of getting a digital mixer for our church hopefully this year, but watching your video bring so much insight of how it works it comparing to a analog one. Thank you for this amazing video,God bless

Problem: 1) Drummer may have tried to adjust his channels on PA after rehersal was over 2) Came back the next day and none of his drums are coming through front of house. 3) I will need to check the drum DCA group to make sure it is not turned down 4) Need to understand what the routing should look like from lets say drum inputs mic channels 2-6, and how they get routed to output mains 15 & 16 to front of house. speakers. He may have changed the routing unknowingly. Again excellent video. Thanks again, Rich

This was very helpful for me. I recently bought the X32 Rack. Your lessons on the X32 were great thank you 🙏. DCA= Digital Controlled Amplifier. Not exactly sure how “Cue” in this meaning applies to the X32 but this is what I was able find. To cue audio is to determine the desired initial playback point in a piece of recorded music. It is a technique often used in radio broadcasting and DJing. One dictionary definition is to "Set a piece of audio or video equipment in readiness to play (a particular part of the recorded material)." If this helps you in any way. Please enlighten me (us) thank you 🙏.

On most mixer boards and probably on this one the Direct Outs come from the early part of the gain structure of the channel. Most of the time you pick them off just after the Gain control of the channel. They are used to send the unprocessed signal either to device to process it before bringing into another channel or they are used to get raw unprocessed signal to send to a recording device to be played back and processed in the future.

This is so cool I really enjoyed it. I was looking for something so I can learn little by little on how to work more and more with the soundboard because I have a soundboard at home but I don’t know if it’s just being intimidating to me because I haven’t really got a chance to practice with it. So I was looking for something that kind of just give the basics so at least I know what to expect. PS I have a question in your opinion what is a good way to practice with the soundboard of a pre-Sonus 16, but at home I have speakers and I also have microphones I have like one or two guitars, but how do you practice? I am open to suggestions. I would appreciate your opinion and tips.
