Do the thirdman strategy where you have a friend who comes over while you are haggling the price down telling you there is a store just down one floor selling that exact item for the desired amount. Usually this will put some pressure on the seller.

That is just common sense. They over inflate the prices and maybe but just MAYBE one in 10000 people would buy it. Everyone else would bargain to some degree. I don't even think Colin gets lowest prices. I have experience in buying gold jewelry in Turkish bazaars, and believe me it's alot more work to get the prices down than on these fake merchandise markets in China.

This is how they do in foreign countries when they see outsiders. Especially if they think you're an American. And all the stuff in China is fake and made there so it costs them pennies. They still make good profits even at the lowest prices.
