Technically being on probation, does grant the right to searches whenever where during a stop or POs. But entirely depends on terms of probation the judge sets and whether it’s felony or misdemeanor probation

Brown_GroundWalker Residue is enough for criminal charges. But realistically, he wouldn’t be booked. Just cited for it and given a court date. But yeah I don’t think any DA in CA would purse charges for that. Easy arguments for the defense. In some parts of the country, possibly, but no in CA.

It’s not about criminal history, he’s on probation. They are allowed to do that if his terms of his probation allows it.

Not when they have probable cause or reasonable suspicion. His previous record gave them that. They only need permission when they don’t have any evidence suggesting you have anything, in which case the smartest answer is no. But if they find even the smallest amount of PC they can search without your consent.

This show is very preachy about how cops SHOULD be, but is often not very realistic to how cops ARE. Unfortunately I think in the real world that guy would have 100% have had his life ruined for that baggy

So 1. a white burnout gets pulled over by a black and latina cop 2. they actually find drugs in the car of someone who agreed to a search 3. then the virtuous cop goes against her own partner to save the suspect from being unreasonably arrested Literally *everything* in this show is the opposite of how events turn out in the real world.

When this show started it did have some parallels to Zootopia such as Grey disliking Nolan being a cop similar to how Chief Bogo was like with Judy Hopps.
