I really appreciated this video, I feel it was honest and up lifting. Today will be my first day of work at HPU in the role of Hospitably Service Manager In the food service department. I’m excited to become part of your community..... joey McClain

I am really disappointed in the lack of diversity but this is truly my dream school. I am apart of the LGBT community and i want to know if the school has other members of the community and if it is widely accepted. This would be a deal breaker for me.

Love that you made this video! It's real facts regardless of which college you attend; where minorities make up >10%. I submitted my application for HPU and I think overall it's a great school!

I was a minority in a predominantly white college. And I had a friend who was blonde and went to Howard….heres the simple answer: it’s a state of mind. if you’re gonna be a victim, you’ll be a victim. You won’t get lynched and hate crimes aren’t really -A THING- anymore. But if you will race things up, then even if you’re in an island full of black folks, you’ll always feel “off” because, perhaps, you’re lighter or darker than your peers. 🤷🏻♂️.

One of the primary issues I have with High Point University is that the ethos of God-Family-Country can restrict both intellectual debate and academic freedom. If I were a minority, I would find this discomforting. As Robert Kennedy said: "Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. And change has its enemies." From my experience, I've determined that maintaining the status-quo is a primary concern of this "university."

I applied here and I watched other youtubers say unless your in a club or something you don’t fit in ... like is that true for you guys ?
@lorenjerae2544 жыл бұрын
Hey, I personally don't believe that you have to join a club/organization to fit in. I believe that being apart of clubs/organizations can get you plugged into the school and also helps you meet some new friends. But, most of the friends I have I have met in classes or just around campus. I hope this helps

Maybe not many "minorities" apply so therefore there isn't many of them. I personally don't like making distinctions between people. I'm from Europe and we don't really make differences between skin colors🤷♀️ i dont even know why it's still a thing over there
@torismith68834 жыл бұрын
Wow Slavery and racism makes it different.

1) Tons of minorities apply, the problem comes with financial availability, HPU is ridiculously expensive, $170,000 in fact . This poses a problem do to the fact that many people of color are infact middle class or impoverished. There is not a lack of willingness there is a lack of opportunity. 2) Racism is very much still a problem in Europe, (take the neo-nazis of Germany or the the Labour party in Britain for example) so if you could come down off your high horse that would be nice.

THIS CHANNELL HAS A LOT OF DISCRIMINATION CONTENT IN IT !! ! So SAD!!! /? Why didn't you apply or transfer to WSSU OR at Greensboro AT&T ///???? Extroadinary racist minds here.... They are forgetting that High Point city is 97 % all black neighborhoods surrounding that great univeristy.

What does it matter? Its 2020 and black people always say white people are racist but black people are always bringing up color like you just did a whole video about being black at a certain school when you live in America a country that is only 14% black and 77% white. I'm not saying y'all are racist but you have to get out of that mindstate.
@jessnwah7434 жыл бұрын
Oh? I’m guessing you’re white. But being the only black persons in an area is very uncomfortable. So they want to make future students aware
