As Salaam Wa Alaykum Hermanita! Al Hamdulillah that Islam is now your new identity and you show the humility of a slave of Allah (ZWJ). I converted in 2019 and similar to you, its been harder to STAY Muslim than to become Muslim. Becoming Muslim made sense; its the only religion that makes sense. But being Mexican, having the lifestyle that I had and being surrounded by people with certain haram-inclined lifestyles made it hard to strengthen my deen. But like how you separated from someone who was haram, I distanced myself from those who were haram for me or who didn’t remind me of Allah (ZWJ) Al Hamdulillah we are now feeling more secure. Inshallah you find everything you want and Inshallah one day you meet my future wife there in Guadalajara

Its hard even for oss as born muslims in western but we adabt after many years we are keeping our deen for oss and fasting without telling anyone we do go out and eat but only fish ir veggi. We use to say that we can not drink alkohol for health issue just to avoid any certain of discussion about religon

I’ve been into the church for years. And also I’ve been into the mosque for years When you go to the church it’s like you’re in a nightclub, men & women sitting next to each other without being covered When you go to the mosque you’ll feel it like you’re in a worship place. And that’s why I left church in 2010 As ex Christian you can’t distinguish between Church and nightclub Alhamdullilah for Islam

Similarly many black people in United States were converted because a slave has to have religion of the master. Look up the history. Hence many places are called mission at in United States too. Wow! I was really touched by your story. First, let me congratulate you and welcome you in our family which is "Muslim Ummah". Ummah is Arabic word, and you can interpret it as family. Secondly and most importunately, you are facing difficulties because you chose to go with a much stronger relationship with your creator and wowed to hold on to that creator against all the odds.
