Well the term average implies not special or outstanding in any way, which is what I think people have a problem with. Most people simply cannot handle the notion that someone is “higher than average” compared to them, the connotation is insulting because other people are being used as a baseline for how everyone else should be. Then you have terms like “above average” and “below average” which tends to trigger insecurities in others so they’ll rationalize it in other ways (“he could have more money but I have a better body” “she’s physically more attractive than me but I’m smarter and kinder, etc….) so I can see why some people would have a problem with the word “average”

They lied by disingenuously making other women think those looks occur naturally. Yet the most detrimental timeframe is the one where WOMEN starting using “average” as an INSULT for MEN. These “women” began to be insulted when being referred to as average because of the way that THEY use and (mis)understand said word when THEY are the ones saying it to the other sex. So as with many of these women’s problems, it is a self inflicted wounds.
