The plaintiff says her friend was walking the plaintiff’s small dog one day when the defendant’s two dogs attacked her dog and bit her. The defendant refused to help, so she’s suing her for vet bills. The defendant says the plaintiff’s dog started the fight by jumping on her dog, and animal control agreed.

The irresponsibility that people show when they own animals is why they should not own them. They should be under your own personal care and control at all times. If you fail to realize that then you shouldn't own them. It's pretty simple

Adrian I normally actually agree with you on your animal comments. You are 100% responsible for your animals. If you don’t have enough control of them that they hurt a person, another animal or they themselves get hurt, then you don’t need to own one. I understand that accidents happen but when it’s a habitual thing then you don’t deserve that animal.

Well hopefully you’re a better owner than most small dog owners who do what you seem to do based on the comment and lol. It’s not ok to let your little dog behave like a lunatic just because it’s small. If you wouldn’t like a big dog to do a certain behaviour don’t let your small dog do it either. Little dogs also need training and boundaries. You’d be surprised how many situations would be avoided if more small dog owners actually used some sense and actually realized this instead of thinking they can act any way they want because they’re small.

@@coffeeaddictexpress5038 that’s good to hear. At his age it’s a moot point, but I find small dog owners either ignore the bad behaviour altogether or defend it because they’re little. Scooping him up is fine, especially now at his age, but correcting the bad behaviour is best, especially when they’re young. Even little dogs need to know what’s ok and what’s not.

@Burlykim13
@Burlykim13 9 ай бұрын
You’re not wrong about that but you seem to be missing the big picture, like most small dog owners do. Be responsible for your dog and it’s behaviour at all time REGARDLESS OF THE SIZE! I own big dogs and have had their faces and ears bit by smaller dogs an absurd amount of times. Small dog owners seem to think they don’t need to correct their dog’s behaviour just because they’re little. I’m sorry but if you wouldn’t want a big dog doing the behaviour, don’t let your little dog act that way either. Period. I think a lot of these instances wouldn’t happen if people did that.

We got 2 German Shepherds. Bc 1 of them terrifies my neighbours I talked with them & came to an understanding that when the neighbours are out, I close the inner doors & curtains so they can walk by without a problem & when I walk the one that scares them (she's never bitten or tried to bite, it's her bark that scares the neighbours) when I walk her the neighbours don't come out. I have made it clear the 1 they're scared of is extremely protective & territorial so I do not allow anyone to approach us period, the other one is friendly & can socialize with the neighbours. When they see us outside with 1 of them they text me asking if it's the friendly one & if it is they come out, if not they wait for us to go inside before coming out. We all agreed to it so we don't have any dog issues that could end us up in court. There are neighbours we don't get along with but we all came to an understanding & it's easier to avoid problems. We also don't allow anyone who does not live with us to walk our dogs so it's easier that way also. The defendants dog broke free from the leash/ collar & caused an injury & even though she was not walking the dogs, she is responsible bc it's her dog. I had this discussion with my birth giver earlier today bc she wants to take the high- strung one out to socialize with the neighbours, I told her not to with that one bc she's about 100lbs & she will not be able to keep her under control. She's like "if I got the leash on my ankle she'll stay right?" I told her no, the male since he's more calm & relaxed she can with him but not the female. If she were to do anything to cause injury to anyone that my dad could be sued bc both dogs are legally his responsibility. We take precautions bc even though our dogs have never bitten anyone or tried, dogs are dogs. They will go out & explore. They will try to explore each other. It's a dog thing. It's our job when having dogs that we keep them under control at all times. I am glad this episode wasn't one where a dog (or other animal) died bc of someone's dog & their lack of control. When walking dogs in public, if you cannot hold the dog back- you got no business walking the dog. That's why I only take 1 out at a time, easier to control them that way in my opinion. I will not argue with anyone who thinks differently. We all have our different ways that works & this is ours. Our way works for us, it has my whole life with other dogs. Having good communication & understanding with your neighbours (rather you like them or not) can actually be a good idea when it comes to having dogs out in public.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen small dogs behaving like absolutely aggressive lunatics and the owners do NOTHING. Little dog owners please use this approach…If a big dog was doing the behaviour would you be ok with it? If not don’t allow your little dog to do it. The fact that she stated the relationship was contentious and then says she said Hi like things were all good .. really makes me believe she was pissed cus she knew she was gonna have to pay and was just being an ass and then tried to play the victim 😒

I have a 100+ lb German Shepherd if another dog just barks and jumps at my dog but it’s my dog who bites the dog it’s my fault I don’t understand why some pet owners make it so difficult
