The Commonwealth of The Bahamas consists of more than 700 islands, cays, and islets in the Atlantic Ocean, and boasts some of the clearest ocean waters on the planet, creating some of the most dazzling snorkeling and scuba diving in the world.
Driving east along West Bay Street, along the northern coastline, you'll approach the very familar estate with the pink house jetting out into the sea - one of the most iconic and picturesque locations of James Bond's Bahamas, Emilio Largo's estate, Palmyra.

So glad to have found your video! Something I've thought to doing is taking a vacation trip to the Bahama's and visit the many James Bond filming locations over the decades! So many James Bond movies came back to the Bahamas for filming because of the crystal clear water. Loved your editing job of past and present! Well done!

Excellent video - the entire presentation! I love Palmyra, it looked the place a 1960s multi-millionaire would own for winter use. I had the pleasure of touring it with a group of friends a few years ago, and it was in need of repairs at that time. It certainly looks worse in these current shots, which is a shame - repairs are so much more expensive than maintenance.

In Thunderball the Pool looks deep. But in actual up to my chest only. A nice place to vusit again although on video.

I've had the same fantasy with winning the lotto. Going all-in on acquiring this location and rehabilitating it, maybe even make it a place for fans to stay overnight and pump it full of Bond experience somehow. Probably a pipe-dream, but if the opportunity ever actually presents itself...

There's too many people with so much too much money, it would be a piece of change from their sofa to complete restore and upgrade. Why haven't that "Golden Eye" resort biz taken this icon and done it good?

Great video buddy. I am a recent fan and sub of your channel. My ladyfriend and I visited that film location in 2016 and it was fantastic. I recommend hitting up Laughing Waters Beach for a vacation destination in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We visited there in 2017 and it was truly awesome speaking as a lifelong Bond fan. Nothing like being at the true "Mecca" for Bond franchise fans. The waterfalls still look the same as they did in Dr. No. Keep up your great channel.

That's the problem with sea front properties, owning it is just the beginning. Keeping it pristine is expensive, as weather and corrosion eats away your prized investment.

@@tomasinacovell4293 It's interesting when you see what's been done with Piz Gloria in Switzerland, turned into a Bond wonderland. But that's on top of a mountain. Palmyra is a residence. There are probably lots of complications which make it hard to convert to a Bond museum-style attraction. Would be super cool though. I'd watch out for Joe Darlington feeding people to the sharks though :-P

Hurricanes have and will continue to rip this place apart. If you want to keep this as a "Bond Museum" structure and property? I would suggest taking measurements of the property and comparing against the original blueprints. Then be prepared to gut the pool and surrounding levels while re-building with cement products (Concrete and mortars etc) that are reinforced with marine resistant additives such as epoxy adhesives and grout for the tiles and a serious strengthening additive for the concrete pour. Remember: This property is at least 55 years old and probably much older than that. Time + Sea Brine is not a friend to concrete and masonry. And don't forget the hurricanes! Weather is your biggest foe.

With a property with this amount of provenance, and in such a glorious setting- it is a total waste. It could be made into a lucrative business - as others have pointed out - to be restored and provide a Bond experience for paying visitors and even hiring it for private functions or over night stays. I hope you all do indeed win the lottery and save this place, I'll happily be a paying visitor!

I’ll be in Nassau tomorrow and am planning a visit. Is the property empty or is the owner averse to people turning up out of the blue?
