Whilst the idea of a flash mob isn't a new thing, a Dabke / Hip-Hop flash mob in Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (Beirut Duty Free) at a time when the region is in flux is certainly a first.
On March 5th, 2011, passengers experienced something a little different. A flash mob performed a mix of Dabke and hip-hop to entertain and delight passengers and airport staff alike.
M&C Saatchi and Beirut Duty Free, created this vibrant event as part of their "Take Back More." campaign. The aim was to literally create a wonderful memory of Lebanon that passengers could take with them on their journey.

i was in tears when i watched this unique video that represents the true spirit of a lebanese soul filled with love and liberty of expression. this video made me consider visiting lebanon this summer.

Having visited there as a pilgrimage last year this makes my heart swell. The Lebanese people are so resilient and have been through so much yet they live life to the fullest. I am proud to be a Lebanese American!

I went to Beirut before 5-6 months for the first time, it was waaay better than I've expected and the people there are very very nice! I won't miss another visit, I should go there again and again and again!

O_O OMG!! I'm in love!! Too beautiful!! Love dabke, I know I'll learn how to dance it really SOON. Too gorgeous, I would've died if suddenly people started dancing dabke around me just like that!!!!!! I wasn't able to keep myself from smiling throughout this entire vid. Thanks for posting. I love that they brought dances from Turkey, Kurdistan and some Iranian influenced dances along to the Arabic dances. Wonderful, going to be on the look out for more.

At the end of the movie, after watching it three time in a row, I suddenly realized! I have tears in my eyes! This is so emotional… one can see it simply as “people dancing in terminal” for me, there's only one meaning- we need to bring peace, now. (Orgad, Israel)

This is truely a testament to the Lebanese, who have endured so much, for so long. The Mid-East, with it's recent turmoil, could learn from this - grab a partner, a dancefloor, and great music to bring about change. A wonderful presentation!
