I think Gershwin would approve. When this was written, the banjo was the more common plucked string instrument in bands. Completely appropriate for the genre!!

This use of the word “cover” is laughable. Gershwin wrote everything he wrote to be played by anyone who wanted to. It’s like saying the Berlin Philharmonic did a cover of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
