From the late 1960s to the late 1990s, Belfast & Northern Ireland were embroiled in The Troubles. A sectarian conflict between mainly Irish Nationalists/ Unionists & British Loyalists. Over 3500 men, women, and children were killed during the conflict, which still leaves a scar on the city today. The infamous "Peace Wall" dividing the city still stands, and the gates are still closed at night until this day. We visit it & the famous murals around the city with a local guide, Mark from NI Black Taxi Tours.

Amazing video. Ireland has an intriguing history with suffering one of the worst famines in history in 1845 - 1852 that the Irish are still suffering from today in terms of population.

Mark is a treasure trove of local historic knowledge, glad you found him and share his knowledge with us! I remember the reports about this conflict as a teenager in the '90s and never understood it, honestly, I still dont get why people kill each other over sectarian differences. But with everything that happened in the middle east in the aftermath of 9/11 to this day, it sadly doesnt feel quite so outlandish anymore. You kinda get numb to the concept of it... 😞 You cant wipe out and forget history, but you got to move on from it to achieve peace. Also: It seems Mark may either have an ignition or alternator issue with his taxi, as it seems the audio troubles were the worst when he accelerated, like HF interference messing with the audio electronics. 😅

Hahaha, small world bro, yeh he was a cool guy. You are right tho, the world we live unfortunately is not getting any better, it up to us to make the best of what we have and enjoy it while we can. But yeh, it was also a shit mic I was using that was a mistake. Anyways, I updated my whole camera system, the new videos from pula should be noticeably better all around. Thanks as always bro 💯🤙
