Not taking Nainggolan to the World Cup is just laughable. Belgium have a terrific team on paper, they’ll probably make it to the quarter finals. However, a country like Belgium isn’t going to have a generation like this probably in a hundred years, so they have to in some way capitalise on having this group of players. Even if they don’t win a major trophy, they need to have some memorable performances and creating history for themselves. Would be such a shame for them to have such a team without any good memories about them

On paper they are good without a doubt. I wish them the best in Russia bc it would be a shame if they don't do well.

3 reasons why Belgium will reach at least the semi's: 1) Although Martinez is far from a world class coach, at least he plays super attacking football. Something previous managers didn't do, which was a shame with such an attacking force. 2) 2 years ago Benteke was plan B, now Belgium has a world class Mertens and in-form Batshuayi as a plan B. 3) Meunier has stepped up and fixes so many issues compared to 2 and 4 years ago. So yes, Meunier is an actual difference maker. People think I'm crazy when I say Meunier will be as important as Hazard/KDB but you'll soon see why.

They haven't busted yet! They are there and shining! Knocked out the #1 rated team. After defeating Brazil today, they are poised to take the championship. But the Have to get past France - a team that has played very dominantly thus far, much better than Brazil even - so they sheould probably be heavy favorites going in to the semi-finals.

I honestly knew that they were overhyped during the 2014 world cup cycle and I stressed that they needed time to develop and would have a great team chemistry by the 2016 Euros. Sadly, that didn't happen and so this world cup is where they have to make a statement. That being said, they're not a dark horse when people hype them up too much and there are other teams that can easily take them on without trouble. They have quite the challenge getting to the finals should favorites win their respective groups.

Belgium is not going to win the World Cup. They haven't played a genuinely good team since September 1, 2016. They lost at home to Spain. Since then, their toughest games were: A friendly against the Netherlands, a nation - coincidentally - that failed to qualify for the World Cup, which they drew 1:1. A friendly against Russia, a team which probably would have failed to qualify if they had had to, which they also drew, 3:3 this time. A home friendly against Mexico, which they also drew 3:3. In short, they haven't defeated (partly because they haven't had to defeat) any team that would have been a litmus test for a World Cup contender. So yes, count me among the doubters.

I really like the Belgian national team. They play fast and exciting football. Very sad they lost to France, it was very close. Belgian last word cup remembers me at Germany in 2010. We were very good in attack in 2010 and lost against Spain because of Puyol‘s header and Belgium lost because of Umtiti‘s header. But very great team. They can reach a lot in next years.

This World Cup is so competitive. Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Brazil are scary good. Portugal is no contender but this a better team than 2010 and 2014 and they have Cristiano Ronaldo. Argentina has lethal strikers but no defense or midfield but they have Messi. Mexico, England, Colombia, Croatia are good. Morocco, Poland, Nigeria, Iceland, Japan, and Senegal might surprise us. Egypt and Uruguay have amazing forwards but not sure about the rest of their team. I’m sad that Netherlands, USA, Italy, and Chile are absent but overall this World Cup looks really compatible.

I have no ties to Belgium but I hope they will do well. Quite a nice "little country" which has a long list of nice names in their squad. They have a very good chance to be the sleeper of the tournament and get to the medal games... Although I also am pretty stunned they did not take Nainggolan with them. Sure he is somewhat of a rebel but as a box to box player and with a dangerous long shot he would totally brought quality and chances into the team. Thorgan Hazard for example is a totally useless choice to the team and probably won't play a minute in the tournament so taking Nainggolan instead of him should have been a clear choice. De Bruyne and Nainggolan in the middle at the same time probably would not have been the most ideal setup in every game but atleast Nainggolan would have brought and allowed different options to the team. Now Belgium has to pray no one shuts down De Bruyne nor he ends up missing any games thanks to bookings or anything because they really have no replacement for him. Nainggolan could have somewhat replace him if needed but Fellaini, Dendoncker, Witsel nor Dembele can do that.

They sit behind Germany and Brazil? Right now, they are ahead of them.
