Spoiler for the novel Belisarius Cawl: The Great Work.
Another book excerpt from a great 40k novel. The backstory of Cawl is something I've found to be very intriguing, and he quickly became one of my favorite characters in the universe.

I love Cawl. He's an awesome character and as much as I would love for Chaos to be dominating, he's what made it possible for The Imperium to keep fighting after Cadia and is likely why the Imperium will hold strong against new Chaos developments and Tau innovations.

Hold strong? All the Imperium ever does is win. Its like a totally different setting these days

@@Michael-bn1oi Naw, If they were winning they'd be wiping everyone else out. The truth of the matter is they have enemies of varying levels on all sides so even when The Imperium wins its likely at a massive cost. If you didn't know they didn't win the Octarius War, Angron slammed down on a massive amount of Imperium Nihilus, and The Nids are slowly approaching Terra from the western fringes. They aren't winning just surviving

Considering Vashtorr's introduction into the setting I cant wait to see how they react to each other. Especially since the Cawl Inferior has been "malfunctioning" and telling Gorillaman that he should put Cawl as Fabricator General since hes the only tech priest who actually invents and in-turn would empower Vashtorr.

SPOILER: If you haven’t read the book and are planning to, go no further. Sedain made his mistake when he had Fredich shot. This gave Cawl a great deal of motivation he needed.

Comparing the Master of Mankind to "Gods" is what is truly heresy. Considering the other gods of the universe... He, and his followers believe he is in fact the highest form a man can achieve, not a god.
