Che quartetto!!! Se ascolti questa aria (molto difficile) 1000 volte riesci ogni volta ad apprezzare una sfumatura diversa. E' il genio di Verdi!!!

That baritone is amazing. What a voice. Not too thin but not too thick, hit my ears perfectly, not too loud but not too small I can hear him clearly at the background. What a talent. If you hear this piece, you will barely can hear the baritone in some part, but this baritone is so perfect.

That baritone is ROCK SOLID! And so is the soprano.. :)

e davvero simpatico di vedere come queste bellissime creature cantano male. tutti stonati. il loro entusiasmo è davvero impressionante! il livello artistico di questa 'esecuzione' mi fa pensare dalla scuola media degli anni 1980... e ancora. è ovvio che voci come queste 50 anni fa non cantavano sul palco. pubblico poco preparato,ignorante. l'orchestra è pesante,suono brutto. bravi ragazzi ! bravi tutti,che bellissima sorpresa !...

Del quartetto la voce limpida del tenore, la voce calda del baritono, è le voci femminili hanno reso un paradiso verdiano!!!!! Meraviglia!!!!!

Dmitri Hvorostovsky s Rigoletto is best

i simply don't understand why people don't "like" the tenor's voice there is nothing wrong about the thinness of his voice i think its fine doesn't interfere with the Quartet although if it can be improved thank you i am more inclined to the baritone his voice really balances the discussion.

Terribly uneven. On the left, you have: a weak, barely-there Duke of Mantua and an OK Maddalena. On the right, a terrific Rigoletto and a truly outstanding Gilda.

Yeah, the tenor has a strange style and a thin voice. But the baritone in this (Ross Ramgobin) is very, very talented. No one really cares about the baritone part in this quartet because the baritone tends to get overpowered and melt away into the background...even in the parts where the baritone is specifically showcased. Ramgobin stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. Matilda Paulsson and Tereza Gevorgyan (especially Gevorgyan) did good as well.

If there is a weak link in this rendition it would have to be the tenor, too tentative in the upper rego. Maybe he just had a "night off" but whatever the reason, it showed. The Rigoletto very good, excellent, beautiful diction and tone. You can hear the guy so clearly. The two women- good.

The tenor ruins it. No breath control and a lot of tension in the voice. The voice is good, just need to work on it A LOT.

while the Tenor does have an unusual style and sound, I would love to hear perhaps him sing solo. I do have reservations in his performance here whereby in a Quartet he should be precise and on the mark so as not to be a detractor among the foursome! hopefully more experience will cement this for him.

I wonder how many people can understand the - rated R - double meanings contained in this quartet. Yes, 'bella figlia' means 'pretty daughter' in Italian, but it also sounds close to a vulgar term referring to ladies intimate parts. It was intentional, as Verdi enjoyed this kind of jokes with his friends

Stonati proprio non direi . Tereza Gevorgyan ha una voce stupenda. In realtà verso la fine sembra che ognuno vada per conto suo ma è un "incidente" che molti commettono nell'affrontare questo pezzo invero difficile.

in re-reply to georger64. I am not a singer but like yourself or anyone else I am entitled to a considered opinion. As i said all the others were were good. The tenor was just not up to the standard of the others in that particular performance. I am not condemning him.
