I feel like these conversations should involve those in the higher ups- agents, designers, photographers, editors; basically the ones who have the actual power. we can have all the models in the world talk about all the issues but, at the end, the final word is not theirs to make

Yes but the models are the face of the show. They are the ones that show the clothes, show the diversity. True, models don’t have the final decision but the models that walk on the runway are seen by children. These children won’t feel disregarded or feel insecure because these children will seen themselves and not some person that is ‘idolized’ as the beauty standard.

Vogue you are literally the leader in the fashion industry. You can set a precedent. You set a standard of this, you have the power to change this but you’re having models who don’t have the power to make the change talk about this. Change is made when it starts at the highest level and unfortunately Condé Nast has a history of setting discriminatory practices in house as well as what the portray in their magazines.

@@arielaariel4497 hey Hun, I have never heard of that brand. Lingerie has existed for all body types but what I was explaining is that RiRi made it a trend to cater to all body types and cultures. A lot of lingerie lines will have skinny, white women as the face of majority of their campaigns. But RiRi made sure to include every ethnicity and body type in her shows, website and instagram. Being able to market your brand on a wider scale is important. If plus sized, and ethnic women were not marketed on a larger scale, big companies like Vogue would not be having conversations about representation. It had to take a brand like riri's (because of the heavy marketing) for conversations like this to be possible. That's what my post was meant to convey.

We’re having this talk… And yet still shorter people are constantly dismissed as if they have nothing to offer the beauty world. If we’re going to have this discussion about exclusion. Then every shape, size, gender, age and color should be included. You can’t just completely dismiss one body type and pretend that they don’t exist and then behave as if you’re accepting of all types. Give me a break. What shorter person have we seen on the runway other than Johnny Depp’s daughter? I’m pretty sick of this. Other people exist in this world that aren’t 5’9”. Acknowledge them!!

Genius strategy Vogue. Perpetuate existing beauty standards, continue to churn out new standards, and then pretend to speak up against them. If you really wanted change, you'd hold YOURSELVES accountable first. WE'RE TIRED OF THE HYPOCRISY. On that note, maybe Bella should stop denying having done any surgeries before speaking out against discrimination and unrealistic standards in the beauty industry. You're simultaneously lying to girls and perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards while pretending to speak about about said standards. Unbelievable.

Bella is half Palestinian, she has every right to speak about it just as much as everybody else. Stop finding a problem when there is no actual problem. If there were no white people in this video, it wouldn’t be inclusive. Stop basing people’s intentions on being white, thin, beautiful. What does that matter? I have always wanted to be runway model ever since I knew what a modelling was and I have never been so right about making this decision of becoming a model but BECAUSE of my HEIGHT I have a lot of disadvantage but after seeing a lot a plus size model walking the ramp, breaking the stereotype of only tall, skinny models can walk the ramp, that gives me hope that one day in the further, there will be petite size model walking the ramp aswell.

@star but designer are starting to make clothes for the plus size models to fit so why would it be not possible for designers to start making clothes for petite size models and besides nobody is going to be 5'8 or 5'9 or any feet just like the models, half of the people coming to watch the show would be of various sizes so instead of portraying just one single size and a height why not make it more diverse. It's just my opinion but I'm sure there will be more petite size models walking the ramp. And u don't agree with me it's okay because it's your opinion and I respect that.
