Hiiii! Today's video is Dollar Tree DIY: Room Decor Ideas Edition. In this video, I went to the Dollar Tree, picked out some $1 pieces (well I guess they're technically $1.25 now...) and came up with diy room decor ideas for them. In the past, I've done quite a few videos involving the Dollar Tree. When I first started posting art videos on KZfaq 2 years ago, I was really into Dollar Tree DIYs. Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. I didn't see that anyone already say this already. If you drill into wood like that again you should have your item laying on a 'sacrificial' piece of wood, it'll help save the back side of whatever you're drilling. But it should be a flat piece like the butterfly it gets trickier when you start drilling into boxes.

In addition to having a sacrifice piece of wood under it, some masking/painters tape covering the drill holes (well, whole piece here) can help prevent damage to the paint job

These both came out great marissa. I never would of thought to make a jewelry box from those little cubes. These were both great ideas for a DIY. I enjoyed this video and I would love to see what other ideas you come up with :)

Honestly never heard of a neon pastel but I can see how it is and works. The ideas are so cute especially the boxes. I love that it isn't symmetrical like most boring boxes/drawers are!

I love the jewellery box because green is my fav colour. Where I live we don't have a cheap store. and we use a low value currency hehe. but i want to find something to make over and make it a series on my channel (art and roblox). I wait every week for your vids ❤

Both turned out cool and beautiful! I actually absolutely love the twist you do and have done with your diys and would love to see more. I've sat down and watched some of your thrift store dress flips and think you did great bringing back the diys you should definitely do more. Feel like this video needs a part 2 lol its like its missing out on being a part 1 and part 2 kinda video where you show us a few other items and say stay tuned for part 2. The cubes into draws was cute and creative. The butterfly was an awesome idea. At least now that you have done it, if you where to do one for your sister or mother or a friend you now know to drill holes first, then sand, then paint then sick a needle back through the holes. However maybe you should do some weight lifting first to strengthen those arm muscles you have, to make holding the drill easier for you. You did an awesome job!

I love this idea. The next time you use a drill on this type of wood, cover the wood with painters tape so that you don't have any tear out. This kind of plywood is notorious for tear out. Once the holes are drilled you can simply rip off the tape and you should have perfect holes with no splinters. You will, of course, still have to use the needle to reopen the holes when you're finished painting.

For earrings and necklaces I just used a canvas I painted. I put small hooks around the sides and bottom and just pushed the earrings in the canvas. It's really cute and I love it

To prevent the splintering mess you can do 2 different things 1, use a scrap piece of wood or plywood as a backup block. Place this behind the piece of plywood to be drilled, directly over the place where the hole is to come through. 2, On the side where the splintering would normally occur, place a wide strip of masking tape where you will be drilling then drill through the tape and wood at the same time.

Was thinking they have those plastic cutting mats that could be used to put behind the flower cut outs in the drawer. So you can see in the drawer and also use the it to its full potential.
